hello, I’m a new grower and I have this outdoor plant. When I was trimming it I noticed this brown discoloration. It hasn’t had any white powdery mildew on it and no spider webbing on the trichromes. It doesn’t feel slimy it’s more crispy. I can’t tell if it’s bud rot or not. Here are some magnified pictures

What causes bud rot? Lack of airflow? Moisture on budds?
Yep. Exposure to fungal spores that cause it, usually botrytis. Then an environment that promotes its growth, typically high humidity, dew falling on it, rain etc.
It happens more outdoors but can happen indoors too if the buds grow overly dense with poor airflow.

It's the reason I don't do outdoor anymore in the PNW.

Caterpillars will also cause it. The poop they leave behind will cause rot.
