I’m drying 3 plants Afghan auto in a drying net placed inside my 2x2x5 tent Inside a 7x15 lung room With a/c. I’ve got my ac infinity 6 in. exhaust fan set to run 24/7 at lowest speed plus a small fan on the floor of the tent not directly on plants. Temp and humidity have varied but stayed in acceptable range Between 58-70 temp and 38-63%rh. Rh probably less constant than temp. I wet trimmed them and a couple of the colas were large. Chopped last Tuesday checked them today (Sunday) and feel that they are drying too fast. My question, is the exhaust fan pulling too much air over the buds constantly or when it triggers to a higher speed to lower humidity could that cause too much air flow.? None of the stems snapped and there is still moisture in the bud. I took one put it in the flower mill and it shredded a good deal of the bud but a small moist bit didn’t shred. I smoked it and potency is fine and it stayed lit. I’m considering jarring some of it and monitoring it with hygrometers for 24 hours to see if jarring early might slow things down. All opinions welcome.

whats too fast? imo as long as take at least 5 days to dry i'm not concerned. unless you're trying to win a contest i wouldn't worry. sounds like they are drying fine

Curious why didn’t you just hang whole plants? They dry a bit slower like that from my experience. If you feel like your buds are drying to quickly move them to paper bags to slow it down.

Thanks for the encouragement, drying is my weakness.

Trying something different. Always before I hung and dry trimmed but it was awkward on wires in the small tent. Thought this might make it a easier to manage buds.I’ve heard the net flattens buds And if that is the largest drawback then I’m ok with that since I’m the only one consuming them. This is the First time I wet trimmed and discovered later that a dry trim might be better if drying on the nets. I also thought paper bags but unsure of a couple things. Do you stack the buds in the bag to what level on the bag, do you close the bag completely or leave top open for air flow. Do you still look for stems to snap before jarring. Thanks for your help.

Manageable size pieces in the bag. If it’s a large grocery type paper bag fill it about 1/4 full. Roll the bag down but leave a good bit of head space for the buds. Use a large binder clip to keep the bags closed good. I toss my buds in them a couple times a day for the first day or two. Then once a day. Takes about 5 - 7 days to sweat the bud where there is a consistent dryness through the buds. Then to a jar for cure. Personally I now use Grove bags exclusively.
