Help! Bugs crawling through my soil

Had to kill one of my bigger flowering plants todays. Had bad root rot and checked soil and had these bugs! All the plants have these little bugs in them. Most seem really small and white but found a few bigger almost red ones. What should I do? 3 weeks into flowering 😩

if there is none on the plant than you could use something like neem oil or kill the bugs. I assume you got a bag of FoxFarm and did not prepare it correctly.
DON'T spray neem oil on the folwers

Yep fox farm ocean forest, didn’t know it needed prep. Do you know what type of bug it is? Thanks for quick response. I’m panicking over here.

i'm not sure and it's hard to see from the picture, did you just fill up the put with the ff soil?

Yea just filled pot and that’s it. There’s two different bugs , some that are tiny and white and bigger ones that are red with antenna, wide bodies. Headed to store now for Neem oil

dont waste your time with neem oil, been using FF off and on for 30* years and never prepped it(for what). Looks kike root aphids or fungas gnat larvae, do you have any fliers?
RAs are a bitch, I had them one year and it was a wash,root drench with some toxic shiat was the only way i could kill them all

No flyers that I see. Saw them in two of my five plants. Freaked and went straight to store. At lowes now. What should I get to kill these things? This blows. No idea how I got them. Or how long I’ve had them.

For the DE put a good half inch layer across the top of the soil. They crawl thru it and it cuts their bodies and they lose all fluids. Like us crawling through glass. Use DE when the pots are drying back. It dissipates into the soil when wet. It doesn’t hurt the plant at all. I don’t use Neem
And don’t know what else you got there. Just check the product labels.

Grind up some mustard seed and use about 1/4 cup and dig it in the top of your soil. I thought it was bogus info myself until I tried it.

It worked wonderfully for me.

Giving the DE a try first. All plants definitely infested which sucks. No signs of any bugs other than the soil though. Plants look decent all things considered except the one that turned yellow? This whole time I thought I was giving them to much Bloom. The one plant i killed was really bad. Had root rot, smelled bad and was crawling with those bugs. Crazy how fast this happened. Hopefully this DE wipes them out and I can salvage this grow. Thanks for your help!

So I’m like 99% sure the bugs are Hypoaspis Miles. Apparently fox farm puts them in the soil for pest control. Tough little buggers, walked through the DE and Neem oil like it was a party lol I’m so relieved it’s not root aphids. Good lesson for me to be more mindful of damn bugs in the future haha

Kike root aphids. That sounds absolutely horrible. It's a fucking holocaust.
