I found a Te-175 with 2 tanks on Ebay for 500$.. Closed loop, passive, no pump.. I put one empty tank in my small freezer, empty the other tank in the top of the extractor.. In a couple of hours, the butane has condensed back into the tank in the freezer.. Now I get to use it again.. It's a small extractor, only 60 grams at a time.. Also bought the heating pad for the vacuum pot.. Only took me one time blasting to decide that wasn't for me.. I can do a 1/4lb in 2 runs.. I don't remove the oil from the first run to do the second. I usually don't sell, but I did to pay for it.. That took a day..
Nice, for small scale extraction a lot of people just open blast because they don't want to go for the loop with the recovery pumps and all that. Cool to see passive loops working well for people. Anyone that is open blasting I recommend looking at some pictures of burn victims and re think what your doing if you are starting to scale up.

The $500 price was several years ago, new with 2 tanks, they're $2000+ now. Pumps are a lot faster, but just like blasting, you can blow yourself up if you don't know what you're doing.

Oh man have I got some stories about making hash. Crazy. All of it is dangerous.

It’s really quite simple:
When you left it in the hot car, the heat has decarboxylated your BHO. That is why the texture is so different.

Yeah but usually when BHO is decarboxylated its becomes less stable. It has to be heated at a fairly high temp for that, or its happens over a long period of time at normal temps.
Temps inside a car can reach up to 170°-180°, plenty hot enough to decarb fairly quickly.

Yeah but those carbolic acids (THCA) are what gives shatter that crystalline structure, thats why distillate is more of a liquid and not crystalline. But the lost of terpenes at the those temps could make it lose some wetness.

THCA is crystalline; THC is oil

I bought the same vacuum chamber without the pump, shown on page one.. I did buy the heating pad that sticks to the bottom of the pot.. The heating pad can be set at 160*f. I bought it to remove the last traces of butane when heated and under vacuum.. Am going to try to decarb in it at 160*f.. Any ideas how long it might take at that temptature?? I've over heated when trying to decarb in the oven.
