I've been watering evenly on top it looks like there's more roots on one side.

Roots one sided in bag

this small vac is fun to chase gnats around the outside of the bag it gets them easy.

are you sure thats not just exposed from watering? Generally roots avoid exposing themselves and will air prune so im going to assume thats the case here
Hey AM this started about a week ago and slowly has become more evident the bag is level i expected a even spread but its not anyway its doing o.k

Is your pot level? If it's tilted the water will run to one side and roots will follow.
it looks level RootsRuler when i water it creates a even level pool on top.

Yobo,

how about this....you have used this pot bag before, yes? The fabric on the no root side is junked up/blocked with previous years soil gunk. No O2 - fewer roots.

Just sayin'

I can say that having root mass in that structure that high up is a good thing. Nice fine root hairs.

Coco compacts so maybe just add a little to cover them for their sake.

do you turn the plant? if the fan is always blowing on one side the gas exchange on that side of the coco will be much better and roots will prefer a higher o2 level.

if thats the case its an extreme one that I haven’t seen before but would be one guess on what’s happening

Hey thanks for the responses i will reply best i can.

your gnat larvee is an issue..
It could be but i only see a couple of gnats each time i water there doesn't seem to be many.

i have used the bag before its get soaked clean after after use and then looks fresh again, there is a bit of green color could be mold around the handles its a small amount i have taken it too seriously.

I'm keen to try 2 x 2 gal bags next grow without topping it might give better results with growth and i might use the res auto watering system i got for that as well.

one gnat equals hundreds of larvee chumping away at your roots etc..
that's a funny way of putting it seriously, maybe that side missing roots is there dine in.

I have turn the bag when not training and sure the fan direction relating to gas exchange could be the cause.
i need to change the setup the bag sits on what i got now is stuff from the yard i made up but i need to buy a better setup for at least 2 or 3 bags to sit on with a auto watering res system.

slow veg growth but getting there.

Plant looks healthy as fuck… growth rates are meaningless with a nice healthy plant brother. Your rocking it

i have used YS and there good i still have some left but the gnats look nearly gone i sometimes don't see any now.
they have life cycle, i’m telling you it’s your main issue..
you need to treat your medium and cover it with an inch of perlite..
let it dry out more in between waterings.,
i said the gnat is not the problem it’s the gnat larvee.,

Thanks GNick55 !!
Ok i got some funky pics to show off but first i was wrong about the bag being level as from the side view it shows it leaning forward thus the rear part of the bag is higher.
Also do you see the green tint on the bag surface with the camera flash on it looks nasty but with flash off its looks less obvious.
edit: just to add the root additive i use is a light green in color i doubt it matters.
Also top canopy looks happy with leaves lifting and growth speed looks better.
