Hello everyone,
We've just rolled out an update to our main forums page. This layout affects both desktop and mobile, and should help give a better picture of threads and categories at a glance. It should also feel a bit more familiar with classic forums.

If it ain’t broken..I kept pressing the forum button thinking it wasn’t working proper…now I know..

Two suggestions to the new site look-

1. Make the column with the current posts equal in size or bigger than the column on the left, eliminate the spaces in between, basically, give them their own column like the one on the right. They "are" in a different column in that below the head widget area, they should just be in a column by themselves and not inherit the spacers from the categories on the left. Looks a bit clunky imo. Also, give each column a heading to make it easier to see what is happening there.

2. Give some padding between the two columns. They are bunched together and hard to tell what is what. Also, less spacing in the categories column on the left between the name of the forums and the numbers of messages etc. Everything is basically off balance on my monitor.

I realize this does change on sizing, but on larger monitors, everything is out of balance.

Yeah it took me a minute to figure out what's going on, but now that I do I understand it.

I will say though I prefer the old way. Both seem fine enough but I'm just so used to the old setup haha.

Gonna take some getting used to. Havent noticed much difference but the colors are throwing me off because i use dark mode on everything so its black and green now.

I dig it, my only recommendation is photos being downscaled. The quality difference between my phone and my uploads are staggering and a lot seem to come out blurry or not as crisp.

Other than that, I love everything including the new look, I use dark theme and it looks sexy

I prefer the old version, but I guess I just have to change my bookmark from /forums to /whats-new/posts/2301175/, and I can just ignore the change lol.

Can we get a combination? Maybe add a little section at the top for the "latest threads" while still using this much broader forum view?

I'll need more time. It's a good idea to divide the view to show the categories. It should help members make origin posts in the correct category, and over time that will be helpful. I'll miss the list by recent activity, though. I have seen some forums put a short list of the most recent activity at the top, with the categorical listing below. Also, a label row at the top would be nice. I'd also like to see who originated the thread.

I don't mind the photos being downscaled. This is a free site, and phones allow for such high res photos that are very large in size. With a large active community, that's a lot of data in a very short period of time.

Why are quoted quotations not shown? That is, when quoting a comment that has a quoted comment, the quoted comment is absent. It would be helpful if they were. Other forums do that.

I like the change, but maybe i'm the weird one lol

I rarely go to the main forum page, so that change doesn't really affect me.
I really like the new green borders(i'm in dark mode) and how certain keywords are automatically having URL links being applied to them.
