Filter on the outside, or no filter?

As long as the intake us near the top of the tent, you're fine. You might not need the duct between the light and fan, but I imagine you've tested it.

Hey mysticepipedeon i'm not using a filter right now it will get connected later on in flower when the smell is strong the thing is when i do connect it i have no other option to reposition the ducting from where it is now so i can put the filter on the ground, but since putting the ducting near the light it has dropped the canopy temp by a couple of degrees anyway i got cooler weather coming so this is really just temporary for hotter days.
This is how i normally have the inline fan just so i connect the ducting and put the carbon filter on the ground when needed.

or i could put the inline fan outside the tent and have the ducting coming in i guess its a option.

just my thoughts but the 270 degree bends in the ducting will really hamper the air flow.
maybe try it without the ducting on the input to improve air flow.
you can always go back if no improvement.

sorry i just re-read the entire post.
you have your filter on the ground and the fan at the top.
warm air really fights to go down unless you have a big ass fan.
is there anyway you can lift your filter or get a bigger fan?

Thanks dean but i think i just figured it out my vents at the bottom of the tent have been closed and the tent does suck in like a vacuum bag i have recently lifted one side where its Velcro and its getting more incoming air now with cooler temp now up top so probably the intake at the bottom vent was not enough.

Put the fan outside, roof if you have the room.

Put a inline fan in a floor intake vent. It will stop the “vacuum bag” happening and give better circulation & temp/Rh control.

Nice tree. 👍🌲

nice ducting and beautiful Bush, pushing 100+cfm thru a 6" duct?
Hey Rock its a 4" not bragging lol its connected to a variac its actually been running slower than the lowest switch setting but i recently increase the speed alot i should of figured the lower vents earlier but at least i caught now its in flower.

Put the fan outside, roof if you have the room.
Hey Zen i'm considering doing that after this grow i'll leave as is for the rest of this grow.

I figured out the correct vent opening with the tent obviously it depends on the inline fan speed exhausting out the tent but when the vent opening is set right i found the lowest heat temp with the hygrometer at canopy level, in the pic if was to open or close the vent anymore it would have a negative result with air intake.

I removed both vent covers on my 4x8 to get the airflow right with a 6” exhaust, same with the 4” exhaust in the 4x4 bottom flap removed. Careful if it’s in a room with a lot of light I made homemade baffles and duct taped them to the inside of the tent

For the baffle I made a box with an open bottom, then duct taped in a vertical section in the middle then blocked off the bottom on the wall side of the baffle so the inside and the airflow looks like this

Shitty drawing lol the concept is there I made them out of cardboard, absolutely no Light comes into the tent anymore and you can feel the air pulling in through them

You would think tent makers would make a flap accordion style with mesh at the bottom or something.
