I got a surprise too, just a little bit important one.

Wife knew it was bugging me that I couldn’t hang my controller like I did the other. Ran out of good magnets.

She picked me up three. All fixed!
OCD appeased.

Hmm... bottom pic went sideways...OCD is back...

You get in return, what you put out there...I think there is song lyric that says it better, but it escapes me now...Beatles?

You all know who you are. You put out much love in this forum and it is well received here. I am overwhelmed by it and blessed to have found a home here.

On my way CG...lol, I just gotta grab those bags of soil on my way upstairs...haha.

Best to you.

Your plants are trained so welll they are auto topping for you! Now that’s a gardener! 👩‍🌾
I wish! I have no idea why this happened. Fine by me if it happens again tho!
So for today everything is done in my veg room..whoooooop whoooop!!! On to the flowering room now. Leftovers for supper a long hot bath and a cigar sized I can’t smoke it all but imma try doobie. Life is good good in the woods hood!

Man for a bunch of pot heads y’all are some picky eaters🤣🤣🤣
I’d eat the north end of a duck fly south most hours of the day, I’ll try anything once lol I LOVE food!🤤🤤🤤

Not sure how we managed to let this thread of general good will and bs make it off the first page but I’ll bring it back🤣

Finished prepping for my first attempt at QWET this weekend, decarbed 8oz of Trainwreck yesterday (Got the house down to 51 degrees yesterday with the windows open and fans blowing trying to get that smell out🥶🥶) and got it into mason jars in the freezer. Got a liter and a half of everclear and some crazy polish shit freezing to. This should be an interesting experiment 🤣

I have a recipe for French potato salad that uses olive oil instead of mayo. Plus a ton of dill weed and fresh basil. And crushed garlic. Killer grub from Ina Garten.
I am all good with that. German potato salads too. I will actually eat good, fresh potato salad......yeah even with mayo, if it's fresh and I trust it. Same for good cole slaw. Great on top of a pulled pork sandwich.

I like making good tinctures. Do you decarb it or are you going for something different? I usually decarb, do a quick freeze (in the alcohol), then double boiler, reduce/evaporate.....

A good squirt goes nice in an IPA, that green float on top......but it's great in a cup of hot tea too. I've gone for hard rides doing 1 or 2 too many dropper squirts, especially on an empty stomach.

Hey......the great things in life. Good food is one of them. :)

So, I had a surprise today. I up potted all of my cupped ladies and found this. I thought it was two different plants, until I got down to her, and hmmmmm.. Two main colas on a seedling? I kept looking at this plant thinking man it’s going to be a big one. Can’t really call it a twin as it’s a single tap root. It has three main stems! Kind of nutz. I'm trying to understand what you got here....?

I've had plants split into 3 sets early instead of 2......."Tri-leaf cannabis is also known as whorled phyllotaxy. Affected plants tend to be bushier than normal...."

I had one this past summer and pollinated it. I think it's a recessive trait but hope it pops up again and maybe I'll get a male and female like it and cross them.

But do you mean the seed itself split into 2 seedlings up through the soil??

Instead of one main stem, it has three, and two tops vs one. Actually three but the other two are shading the middle one out. Normally one would have to top a plant in order to achieve that. Looking down from the top, I thought it was two plants. You can see this is at node one. So, in essence it looks like this plant topped itself.
While phyllotaxy addresses the arrangement of the leaves, it does not address three main stems. Just kind of freaky!

Two plants left to lollypop and then the big smashing! (Table topping them) So close to kicking off the first flowering of the year. 🥰 After tabling I will be prepping clones and then finally finally I am caught up! These will be a challenge to table as they are about a foot taller than I would like, but I’ll work with it. I have already hauled out the honey and vet wrap for busted branches. If any of you have never used vet wrap for that, ya should! Unlike tape it does not stick to your plant, sticks to itself and it expands. Super easy to wrap in those hard to tape places.
It’s Friday (an you ain’t got no job, Craig) whooooop whoooooop!

Friday ya.....lol...retired for years now...it doesn't have the same kick...or that pay day feeling....now its just one long Saturday with the odd interruption of holidays

I got my new light today...a G3000...what a snap putting it together...literally no tools just everything clicks in place. I'm putting it in my 3x3 but its full of drying plants....another week before I can hang it..

I had my cat Qnight down with me again...I left the pot's from my drying plants near the door to the garage....today my boy decides he has to pee in one/two dug up soil on the floor and a watered stump.......hmmm wasn't me.....lol....Cats

This is my first attempt, I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube, Read all GNick55’s stuff and read a bunch of internet articles. I’ve taken a little from everything I think to develop my plan as follows:

Decarb product to be used (in this case Trainwreck bud)

Freeze everything for 24hrs (I have 4 large mason jars full of weed and 1 750ml bottle of polish grain alcohol (195 proof) and 1 handle of 190 proof grain alcohol.

Fill two mason jars and shack gently for 30 seconds (I’ll be wearing oven mits) place back in freezer

Swirl gently every minute for 5 minutes

Pour into strainer and bowl fitted with a nut milk sack (giggle giggle) in the freezer and strain.

Collect alcohol and redistribute into the other two mason jars and top off with more alcohol. Repeat the above process.

Once strainer Pour into empty alcohol bottles and use the remaining alcohol for a second quick wash of all the weed in nut milk bag. This I’m thinking kinda like a tea bag it’ll be a rinse/was for 2-3 min, then strain.

Once all alcohol is collected, strain through coffee filters

Next to a double boiler on low with a fan until is gets low enough then maybe finish with the fan alone so as to not over cook? Though I’m sure you can’t over cook in a double boiler as long as there’s always water and nothing touching the bottom?

Thoughts?

But did this split occur from the seed itself, or after a certain number of leaf sets? I've had a few of the kinds I've described before, and that's what happens......after turning to 3 leaf sets instead of rhe usual 2, it grew out branches instead of the 1 main stem, as if I had topped it, but didn't.

That's pretty much the way I make tincture, with a few minor differences. The basic recipe for all tinctures involves decarbing, soaking in alcohol (it doesn't need very long), straining, and evaporating. I don't add more alcohol at any stage, and I don't know if freezing is technically necessary......it's the decarbing that's most important, converting the THC into edible form, and soaking in high proof alcohol, all to squeeze the most amount into the alcohol most efficiently. All of the extra little steps, freezing, double boiler, amount of evaporation, is all probably more about personal preferances and techniques.

Freezing does;

MORE EFFECTIVE TRICHOME REMOVAL

Trichomes are the small, resinous glands found on cannabis plants that contain the cannabinoids we are after, mainly THC, CBD, CBG, etc.
The goal of the QWET process is to remove as many of the trichomes from the plant matter as possible.
Freezing the plant matter makes these trichomes more brittle and easily separated, or broken off, from the plant material.
This helps us get the most cannabinoids off the plant and into our tincture, resulting in a more potent final product.

REMOVE CHLOROPHYLL

Freezing cannabis helps prevent the chlorophyll in the plant material from being absorbed into the alcohol tincture.
Chlorophyll, the most abundant pigment in plants, is responsible for the bright green color associated with kale, spinach, celery, and, yes - cannabis.
Chlorophyll produces a strong green taste and color we try to avoid in this extraction method.
While chlorophyll plays a vital role in healthy foods, like in the consumption of raw cannabis, many people do not want it in their final cannabis product for various reasons.

REMOVE WAXES AND LIPIDS

Freezing also helps remove other naturally occurring plant compounds, like waxes and lipids, also called 'the undesirables.'
When the flower is frozen, the waxes will stay frozen and can then be filtered out during the filtering or straining process.
This prevents the majority of waxes and lipids from entering your final product, resulting in a 'cleaner' end product.

Having had it in a tray with several others, I really can’t one hundred percent say. As I said I thought it was two plants until I hauled it out. Looking at where the split occurs and having had planted this seed in that cup, I believe the split occurred from the seed. There were two dead cotyledon leaves at the bottom, node one with three limbs. It actually has three tops, but the two you see in the pic shaded the middle completely out. This is a first for me. It’s very interesting.
You, having experienced this before can answer my questions 🙂 What is the structure like, and do you consider it stable genetics?
This plant is called blackberry Moonrocks.
