So an eight hour day? When you flip to flower do you do 4 on 4 off?
Nah it runs for 6 hours then off for 2 hours then on for 6 off for 2, repeating just like that. Same as running 18/6 just broken up. I read about this in a Maximum Yield magazine article a few years back and it's worked very well for me. The theory is that the plants do better with frequent breaks, and I definitely noticed a difference in vigor and growth rate after switching to this schedule.

As far as flower goes I generally still run 12/12 with slight variations depending on what I'm doing. Variations like 11 on 13 off, even 10 on 14 off. Cutting the on time down just a little towards the end of flower seems to accelerate the process a little.

On an unfunny note I saw our Orioles are back

I didn't take the picture, saw one for the first time this year. They migrate South, for the weather and the tacos and margaritas I would assume🤣

Beautiful birds😘
Saw just one the last couple years, then this year 2 and they built a nest in the hedgerow. Didn't know were it was, but the adult birds had a flight path back and forth over the house to the mulberry tree. Went to look yesterday and the youngins' were coming out of the nest making a terrible racket. They're almost as big as the adults but have a short tail. Now they're gone. Beautiful!

Love this. I've taught a few people how to grow through the years but I always tell them to make it their own. Never stop learning and trying different things AND THEN sharing those ideas that may seem odd or different but WORK to help others. I'm outside and can't control daylight but I would try this if I were growing inside😘

Yeah and I generally sync the light schedule up with the sun for a few days before I stick indoor starts outdoors. I mostly grow outdoors these days except for my starts before the weather breaks for the summer.

Damn, Dead. I knew you were ahead of the curve, but you are running 3 "days" in our normal grow day! 🤣

That is really cool. It makes sense, especially when you think about plants normal activity/ respiratory process in the world outside of a tent. Have you tried veg variations that go beyond the 24hr cycle? Makes me want to see what an 8/2 would do. Would be 24/6 after the same 3 cycles.

If you have small trees you can cut an orange in half horizontally then stick them on a tree branch they will eat them up like candy
