If you have small trees you can cut an orange in half horizontally then stick them on a tree branch they will eat them up like candy

I have an Oriole feeder with a place for jelly and fruit as well as sugar water. I'll set it up again.

That is really cool. It makes sense, especially when you think about plants normal activity/ respiratory process in the world outside of a tent. Have you tried veg variations that go beyond the 24hr cycle? Makes me want to see what an 8/2 would do. Would be 24/6 after the same 3 cycles.

Yeah unfortunately it looks like Maximum Yield is no more, and I can't find the article in the Wayback machine either. I do actually have the hard copy of the magazine that this article I read was published in, so I'll have to look for it.

At any rate, they had tried several variations of light schedules and found this one to be the most effective. The basic principal behind this theory is that the plants can only process so much light over time, and that by giving them more "breaks" in between, they actually metabolize and process faster. Sort of like how they say taking a 20 minute nap in the afternoon actually boosts productivity in certain workplace environments.

I'm making hot sauce by lacto-fermentation transforming the peppers into a healthy probitic rich sauce that will taste better and last longer than the cooked varieties.

They'll sit on the counter in a brine solution until Friday when I'll strain out the peppers, onion and garlic and blend them with a quarter cup of that brine water and a bit of vinegar. I can't find anything near as good on the market

I just set up a hummingbird feeder next to a fountain in our veggy garden/turtle pen. Wifey been seeing hummingbirds trying to drink out of the fountain so I put this up. Cool little fuckers..

Spent some time on the grill

then the pressure cooker

and then GET IN MY BELLY!
