so my lights have a choice of 6500k 5000k or 4000k. i have been using them to veg on 6000. as i switch to 12 12 should i run them at 5000 for a week or two then drop them to 4000 or should i just go straight to 4000? i kind of want to promote stretch as ive been using a scrog for the first time and now that it is filled nice i want to capitalize on the vertical growth during the stretch to get some nice colas. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The first few weeks after flipping to 12/12 are a transition period, the plant is going through a lot of vegetative growth during this time and IMO lights should stay at veg settings during those weeks and then start going to flower settings.

I've never personally used those lights for growing but I have the same style GE led bulbs that I use in my shop and bathroom.

Idk how big your grow space is but there's good affordable full spectrum led grow lights out there that would cost the same as a few 4' packs of those bulbs.

yeah i definitely plan to upgrade soon but i got the unit as a hand me down, now i replaced the bulbs one by one since they were only "veg" lights and for sure with that money alone i could of bought a better light. i was using like a shitty amazon blurple light before that and this works much better. i mean the plants seem to grow in veg just fine i just dont know if they will work for flowering, but we are going to find out in a couple weeks haha

honestly ive just been tinkering and dialing in my setup before taking the plunge of buying a good light because i really want to be able to justify it. so if i can get it done with these lights in three months when i have some money and can upgrade my shit will be dialed. hopefully lol

thanks for the advice on the flip, this was my thought as well and transition to the flower spectrum as the plant is done stretching and focusing on bud growth.
we shall see haha thank you for the response

I have been seeing decent growth though with these lights. The first pic was December 6 the second is right now.

So I plan on building another 5x5 tent in a few months and getting a better light to flower and have a consistent flow between the two.

But like I said I will be flowering them this time with these lights in about a week to ten days. I don’t want to let them get too tall because I don’t really know how good this light will penetrate or so my thought has been keep them low and do what I can to dial it in for the future.
