New member, old lurker and even older grower. Growing outside in Saskatchewan Canada this season. I’ll be planting feminized blueberry OG, Chemdog and Slurricane strains this year

20 gallon fabric pots on my deck that isn’t accessible from the ground. Only through my house. I’ve successfully grown 6-10 plants a season here for 5 years

What’s everyone’s outdoor plans this year ?

Welcome to the Farm! I’ve got some Raskals OG that is going outside FOR SURE! And maybe a couple SFV OG’s. We’ll see. I’ve got some banana garlic I really want to try also! My goodness that turned into a shit show quickly hahaha. Now I dont know what Im going to get out there! 🤣

Summer 2024 recap:

Out of the eight plants attempted -

4 were burnt to a crisp from an over abundance of Death Star rays.

1 was eaten by the Bembe.

2 died from heavy smoke.

And the last of the Mohicans was viciously dissected by fungus gnats and mosquito hawks.

Got an indoor set up now so June, July, and August I’m taking off. 😁

I'm taking the summer off myself. I've battled every bug, vermin, deer. Last year it was a black bear that finally broke me.

Stupid bears. They don’t get in the back of my property but they make themselves right at home in the front and use our rose garden like it’s a walking path.

Imma gonna try and use my next grow which are Gelato, White truffle and a Kush. I've got some autos going right now in my tent that won't finish till late March. I'll take a short break then start those photo seeds and take some clones off them to use outdoors this summer. I'll also trade some clones for a another variety. I'm in Oregon won't set them out till mid June or when i see at least the 14hr daylight mark. I grow in plastic pots. I'm an old gal grower over 40yrs outdoors don't grow those 14ft trees anymore just little 6ft indica strains or shorter hopefully LOL.

I grew slurricane and a blueberry strain last summer still got some slurricane seeds too.

Awesome to get so many replies! Thank you folks for the warm welcome!!

Last year I came into several unopened packs of Jordan of the islands seeds. All kinds of strains. Hundreds of seeds in total. I grew his gods slurricane which had so much resin and trichomes it was amazing. The trim from it made to die for bubble hash so I’ll grow 4 more gods slurricane this year

I’ll put em in 20 gallon fabric pots and grow em right out in the open with my south facing deck. We had a harsh heat wave so one of my plants burnt pretty good so this year I’ll construct a shade cloth doohickey to shade my plants when need be

I make my own soil mix. Pro mix HP is my base and I add shrimp compost from lamberts as well as some bone and seaweed and a few other things. I let that cook for a bit then add my plants to the 20 gal containers.

I love berry tasting weed so I’m definitely looking forward to this season outside. I find that you can’t beat that sun grown taste. Those who grow outside know what I’m talking about

Last year I ended up with 722 grams dry from 6 plants. So this year I’m shooting for the moon

Hell, I was happy with just the hash from the slurricane trim so this year I’m taking two whole plants specially for bubble hash

I’m still a little butt hurt after over two months of 100+ degrees. I’m clearly not done pouting 😆
I hear ya, Gold

In late July and early August last year here in the prairie, we had almost two weeks of nearly 40 degrees Celsius which is….104 Fahrenheit, I believe so it was STUPID hot. I’m going to construct a shade thing for my plants so here’s hoping I end up with some happy ladies come harvest

Here's a few of mine from last summer. I needed shade for myself and my plants. I had some fella build me a awnning that's 14x14 ft. It's got polycarbonate shaded panels on the top. Yes sir it got hot for way to long last summer here in Oregon also.

Have just sowed some bag seeds a couple days ago, the first of them has emerged today and I can't wait to see if anymore have emerged by the time I get home from work tomorrow. The strain is unknown but the parent plants leaves were very sativa in nature which is nice since I usually prefer my sativas. I have a grow diary going currently that I typically update every 2-3 days if you are interested in seeing what growing outdoor in the southern hemisphere is like
