The tub is a 17 gallon plastic container that was part if a home water filter that I removed for a client a half dozen years ago. I made the PVC frame and covered it in plastic. In the tub I put about 12 gallons of water, a 100 Watt heater and an aquarium pump/filter. The warm moving water keeps the upper portion about 10+ degrees warmer and works great for seed starting and clones. I keep the light, a 9 Watt LED on 24/7.Good morning @PlumberSoCal2 nice to get a day off occasionally!! How does that clone tent work? Whats the tub of water at the bottom all about? Cheers![]()
An old friend on the Farm posted a video how to warm a greenhouse and I used that info for my hot box for my smaller greenhouse. Unfortunately a tree next to my small greenhouse is becoming uprooted, threatening to come down on the greenhouse so I removed the box and it's been simi setup in the large greenhouse but due to the configuration I wasn't able to get the top on so while I had it running it didn't stay as warm and didn't work as well.
I plan on eventually using 5 gal buckets with aquarium heaters under the shelves to keep the large greenhouse warmer in the winter. As soon as I retire which will be in a few months.
