They look very healrhy....im using Ocean Forest. I would like to build my own soil, but have to many irons in the fire right now. I am sure I will find time.

Got mine a week ago. Still haven't done it. Im a bit intimidated.

The stuff leftover can be strained from the ice water and thrown into a crockpot for a few hours with some butter, then restrained for a good batch of green butter.
I did two pulls from my first run and then made butter with the rest, and the butter was still potent enough to make killer cookies with.

I read your post, then went to trim hell. As I was trimming up my Big Bud...bud, I was pondering your comment about harvesting the top of your plant, then see if the lowers fatten up. Now, if pruning your plant throughout the grow, it takes 10 to 14 days get over the stress. How would your buds fatten up, I believe cutting her off at the ripples may be stress.... Don't get me wrong I've done the same thing hoping, or just needing a break from what I call trimming hell. Anybody can weigh in on this? Cap?

I’ve seen it done with other grows before. These girls went through the ringer as far as stress is concerned. I also want to try and preserve the genetics, because they were bag seeds and I really like how they turned out.

But then people use those washers (mini washing machines for hash making) and they run those for like 15 minutes and get crystal clear hash…

The people using washing machines are more than likely using fresh frozen, or at least the few videos that I have seen were. That’s a serious investment into hash making to buy a mini washing machine. In most of those videos they go on to press the hash and make rosin .

I've always believed that the production of hashish is a necessary measure. Yes, I've seen in police reports that dealers have a lot of buckets of grass, but now I think they're just not subscribed to my channelYou can make great compost from grass.

I have watched a few videos (I research shit too much before I even try it )

Maybe try blending for like 5 minutes the first run, let it soak for like 10 minutes then mix for 4-5 trial and error I guess will we each find a technique that works kinda cool a bunch of us are giving it a go the first time all at the same time coincidentally

What was your reason for trying it?
Mine was I just felt I was wasting good trichromes even after a dry sift even if I ran it twice, you could still see em covered, I ran it fresh, dry, frozen, room temp, seemed roughly the same each time, frozen did best ofc but not by enough margin to make me happy lol

From what I saw they ran it harder the 2nd wash (most of them did 3 washes total when I was watching em do it)

To tell you the truth I’ve done it all when it comes to concentrates. Starting with iso. Wanted something more. Did some dry ice hash, then bho, pressed whole plants into live resin. Blah blah But my favorite thing is just the old school bubble hash. I smoke joints so it’s just perfect to crumble in there to spice up a joint. It may not be as strong but I think you get a lot more essence of the actual plant. Probably because the little bit of plant material lol

Plus that’s like the shit of my parents generation so most of this batch I’ll give to my mom haha

The silicone mixer is a new one for me, should be fine and possibly better than the old steel paint mixer method I used to use.
When I got introduced to the little washing machines I just decided that was how our trim would be processed.
They aren’t perfect but if you figure out the ice & water ratios it’s a fairly smooth operation.
I put in a couple of Twenty20 Honeyface plants and plan on primarily washing those two for a bigger hash stash this year.
