Are you letting the soil dry out at all?

You also may be overdoing it with the foliar sprays. Nitrozyme once every 2 weeks is enough. (only if the plants are responding and doing well)

For right now I would maybe hold off on any food water, till they recover and start to perk up.

The plants went right to a 1000watt, then were lst's. Then got bunch of foliar sprays and possibly over watered.

If too many thing are going on at once makes it hard to figure out what is the problem.

I would maybe let them adjust to the light and start to have new growth. Then would start lst or super cropping. That way there is not too much stress at once. I find it is also more critical with younger plants. *there at a more sensitive stage in life.

Hope that helps.

yeah the soil does dry out, i wait about 3-5 days between watering. sometimes only two, the pot gets really light. the environment is REALLY dry, like 20% humidity sometimes, usually around 30-37 though. and the pots are tiny. the 4x4 squares i gave them straight water today. it seems like if i would of waited till tomorrow to water they would of been really unhappy. and its only been two days since i fed them. am i just judging wrong on how dry the soil is getting. i mean the sides pull in and everything. the temps are around 83. a problem i have been trying to alleviate with ducting and what not, but i simply need to get an AC unit. and a humidifier.

i think i have sprayed them with nitrozyme twice within the past two weeks. ill hold off on anymore. and yeah im sure your probably right about training too much too early, i have really been topping that much just like maybe once or twice on each plant, no more. i have just been bending tops over and what not... i appreciate your input sled, thanks a lot. do the lights look too close still? they are probably 24-28"s off the canopy. OH and i also changed the lighting from 24/0 to 20/4.

here are some pictures i took today while i watered and stuff. still trying to decide on which ones im going to keep. thinking about 6 now. the 5 older ones and one of the younger unknown strains just to help fill the screen.

Why are you only gonna keep six? Do you wanna yield more per plant?

well i might keep eight now, its all up in the air. just kinda didnt want to put a lot of effort into some plants that got way less veg time, but they seem to be doing okay now so we will see. might do all nine... only time will tell. the older clones are much more bushy and have been getting the training its not until now that the younger ones are catching up in height.

Glad to hear moving the light up helped. I know the light bleaching and burning problem from experience. :)

I like to keep the light 30" away and bring it down to 24"-18" during flower. Little bit each week and watch how they respond.

Probably a good idea to flower all the plants you got to flower. Smaller plants can be raised up and.or put in the center of the light. All usually helps out.

If they get overcrowded, you can keep the best ones under the light and put the rest of plants on the side.

Will add more buds to the yield.

Good to see there doing better!

transplanted today. keeping all nine plants. running my short 5 gal buckets again. 3x3. should work out nicely for like a 5x5 screen.

blue dream sativa structure will fill up canopy quick, maybe put them in corner. transplants look good, looks like their ready to take off under screen.

I vehemently disagree, but we don't need to discuss in this thread.

jake wouldn't have mentioned switching if he didn't want input. Maybe you could let us know why you think 24/0 is worth the extra money spent on electricity. Surely you've gotten better growth with 24/0... not debating, just curious.

Your rent/mortgage is a fixed cost.

Your electricity is a variable cost.

In trying to minimize the cost of producing a # of weed, it behooves us to produce the product as quickly as possible because of our fixed costs.

Ergo, I run my veg 24/7.

Just to clear up, it's not "extra money on electricity" - you're gonna spend the same amount, it's just when you wanna spend it.

i dont have rent/mortgage. we own our home outright.
my cycle expenses are water/electricity/soil/nutes/bulbs.

yeah im definitely familiar with the blue dream stretch i was thinking of doing the same, just putting the blue dreams in the corners. the afgan goo gets pretty lanky too. it was one of my highest yielders last run. only one of my blue dreams topping it in weight. no where near the quality of the afgan goo though, imo that was chronic.

I'm not sure I follow here.

You're trying to minimize the cost by producing quicker. i get that.

So then, it is your experience that 24/0 will veg considerably quicker, say to a certain height?

i've tried both on seedlings, moms, and clones...never noticed enough of a difference to keep the lights on for 6 more hours.

Time bro, time - time is an expense.

You're forgetting the opportunity cost of the harvest a year (hypothetical, could be more or less than a full harvest, depending on growing style/system) you miss because of running 18/6.

sfzoo, yes, 24/0 is without a doubt a faster way to veg than 18/6.

Hypothetically (or in reality) if plants don't grow faster under 24/0 than 18/6 then you're wasting money....if you could pull an extra harvest every 4 or 5 years I'd be shocked.
If plants really grew faster under 24/0 wouldn't that be the standard veg time accepted by the community, and more importantly the larger commercial growers?

Instead of us debating here and taking up space in Jake's thread, why don't you start a thread and see what the "commercial growers" seem to think?

I'm not a commercial grower by any means, but I do find it kind of humorous that whether plants grow faster under 24/0 or 18/6 is actually even being discussed here.

i grow under 20/4 so fuck you all.

jk.

i like to have the plants get a little bit of a relax and cool time. if i have my lights are on 24/0 i get a little more heat creep. cuz my lung room just starts getting hot and the passive cooling of the concrete walls just cant keep up.

its all in how you want to swing it. but honestly i saw i better response in my two grows after switching from 24/0 to 20/4. it seemed like the plant just got greener and happier. idk though, just my opinion. im keeping my lights where there at for a few more weeks then im budding the bitches.
