i wonder how much bud is lost becasue it's chopped off and how much of the tricomes get sifted off in the process. what's the trim look like? i bet it's fire ass trim with that tight of a trim job and that much bouncing around.

The trim is very finely chopped up. It still makes good bubble, kief and edibles.

If your plants are foxtailed out it will shave/round those off. A very nodey strain should be alright for the most part as long as it has some chunky substance to it. Around here if your buds have fox tails it is assumed that there was a problem during their growth with heat, stress or a lousy strain. Most growers in the Triangle have their trimmers round off any fox tails anyways. I know I do.
The Twister does great on OG's and Chems. One of those dry pics I posted on the last page was of my OG. I have seen the pics of your chunky beautiful buds GTD and they will do great.

the twister is by far the most impressive unit out there - even more so when you put 2 units together...

the trim job prolly wont live up to your hand trim standards (it doesnt to mine) but with one machine (running everything through twice) you can do over 10 lbs in one workday with 2 guys easily.

the machine itself is impressive, from the collection system to how you just drag the whole twister outside and power wash it.

a third trim might get it closer to my standards, however the stuff I smoked that was trimmed with the trimpro looks as good or better then a lot of weed I have been seeing at clubs lately.

dont have any more of that smoke or I would post up some pix for you guys - Ill see what I can do!
It took me weeks last year with spotty help to get that much trimmed. Weeks. When I think about my burning, aching shoulders... I thank God for curved grape shears.

Thanks for sharing your pics and vids HumboldtLocal. HL let us use some of his pics and vids in a little dvd we put together last year to show our customers. It also has footage from medical growers in Canada. If you want a copy of the dvd stop by the store and we'll be happy to give you one.

Hey 4214evr let us know you are from THCFarmer when you pick up your Twister and we'll throw you some free dry racks.:smiley_joint:

We had a customer bring in his Twister that fell out of the bed of his truck on the highway going 70 mph. When he called us we expected his machine to be destroyed. When he brought it in it was in really good shape. One of the handles was bent and one axle had fallen out. I think we will have this machine back in action real soon. These Twisters are pretty bulletproof. I'd like to see how the other machines would handle a spill like that.
Please make sure your machines are properly secured before transporting.:icon_dizzy:

I've had my Twister for about a month now and I think its a great well built piece of machinery, well worth the money invested. I've only had a few runs with it but I was really impressed with the results. I ran fresh flowers and some dried untrimmed buds thru the machine. I will post up a mini review with comparison pics(hand trimmed vs twister) and video when I find the time.

With round shaped flowers(kushes, purples, most indicas in general) bud loss is very minimal. As HL pointed out, the twister does like to eat stacked calyx's, so loose/airy sativa flowers or strains with severe foxtails should be avoided if you want to keep the natural look of your flowers. The tumbling action does crush some of the trichomes but the trade-off of instantly trimmed buds far out weighs the loss of resin glands. I haven't made bubble yet with the trim but it looks like law mower grass clippings. Definitely not remotely on par with material that was removed by hand but that is to be expected considering how fine and fast the blades cut as well as the way the trim is extracted out into the catch bag.

not bad at all, if i was doing 10 lbs i would def get one. trimming sucks big time.

but those side by side shots show the trich loss big time. just look at the diference, nug on the left is $400, nugs on the right are $300 in clinics around here. but the trim job looks identical without the trich loss

I agree, the difference is much greater than I would have guessed it would be. It appears that these trimmers are best used to do the medium and smaller size "filler" buds while the tops should all still be done by hand. I am really eager to try the new Trim Pro Rotor though, the idea of the buds being gently tumbled over the grate by the leather straps seems like it would be the best of the bunch for keeping the bud quality as close to hand trimmed as possible.

It seems like people had different reports about the trim quality? Does it vary by machine maybe? Which machines leave trim that you could still make good bubble hash with?

I made the mistake of buying a ProCut Fast which now sits because its a worthless piece of shit. Whoever designed this machine should be dick slapped. Completly destroys flowers and leaves them smelling like cut rubber grass clipping.. Worried if I spend 15K on a twister I wont end up using it as I grow top shelf meds which im not willing to turn into beasters no matter how much work it may save... I look forward to seeing a twister in action..
