Co2 speeds up the metabolism right? If that's the case do I want to raise the PPM of my nutrient solution or do I want to increase watering frequencies, or both?

hey no worries, IME you can raise the ppms slightly but only if the strain can take it. I don't water any more often than when I'm not running co2. Just make sure you got her dialed like usual nutes/watering/lights/temps and they'll be happy. what type of grow are you doing? lights/nutes/temps? how often do you water and what is your media? any chance for some pics of your setup? tank or burner?

just got the hydroGEN pro (water cooled propane burner), & cap ppm4 co2 monitor.

using a variation of lucas formula and water 3 times during lights on with 4 drippers per 18 gal container

lighting is

60-70% pyrlite the rest fine coco. I'm at day 28 flowering now, but am going to get everything ready for my next run with co2

Not a big change

When using CO2 enrichment you shouldn't need to raise your ppm of your nutrient solution. I have had great success running the CO2 as high as 2000 ppm and as low as 1500. With watering you may notice a slight rise in evaporation due to heat from a burner (if running one), but not really from the metabolism at least at any noticeable rate. Also higher ppm's of CO2 help prevent pm and pests from spreading or multiplying.

exhale co2 bags

i just started using EXHALE CO2 bags not changing any thing else and seeing nice differents on my ladys... great for tents and small rooms may need more than one if larger areas...take bag out of box set in room and makes co2 for 6 months..no gas or eletric all natural...

Have you tested ppms in tent or you just "think" there's a difference? Is there a batch made date on the bag? cause if they last 6 months and been sitting on shelf for like 5, how much co2 would you get? For the price they want I'd rather buy some ingredients and start a batch or 2 of beer. Atleast in the end of this your wallet will be fuller, your thirst(if you drink beer) will be quenched, and you would've generated same if not more co2 than that bag.

My room is fairly large (unfortunately, money sink), and I've already got everything in place. Thanks for the input guys!

I've heard other farmers say you can match your nutrient PPM with the CO2 PPM.

They can handle increased lumens i.e. 1kw HPS and increased nutrients better with CO2.

I wait until the babies are off and running before I start the CO2

CO2 is for a dialed in room with healthy plants.

I bring it up incrementaly across a week to end up at 1600 ppm.

I shut it off at week 6 or 7 depending on strain as the plants wont benefit from carbon loading at this point anyway...just cut it back to like 550-600.

You shouldn't have to dial in nutes for the CO2 to be effective. Just keep on your normal feed regiment.

Yes but not always. I had big'uns that wanted over 1500 ppms food, but would balk at 1200 ppms.
I was following that rule too.
If I had a different method of nute delivery, I would have been feeding lower strength more often, and would probably have been matching co2 and nute ppms.

But yes that is right most of the time.

For me personally I find that there is little need to raise nute ppm while raising co2 ppm. I find things go well when nute ppms to be right at 600-800 while my Co2 ppm's are at 1400-1500.

if your venting alot then your most likely venting out your co2 ! one out of 2 of my rooms are fairly sealed which is 4 x 6 and the bag works find for me ...my other room is vented...the bags do have a date for replacement..your bag could have some white fungs growing inside which is normal .. its how it works...make sure bag isnt all white and prematurely has been exposded to air...as much important in a sealed room beware of moisture...your girl like drying out...without a mold prolblem or mold flies ! as well as many other insects.....again use your head...your soil or hydo and ph has been my bigest booster < its the basics>purlite your soil for good drianage...better dry and water than mold up .. i have found this out the hard way...hope it helps.....check out the cost and size of co2 gen. find out if more elec. ,,, gas burning will be needed .

I havent bought co2 meter ..but theres a difference....really are you brewing beer in your grow room ? you must have alot of space! and yes theres a replacement dates on bag....beware of the insects youll draw with a brewary in your grow room....a simple bag work fine for me...and any extra co2 wock for me...best of luck........................................................................ beast

I don't run my co2 any higher than 1000ppm. Read some articles a guy posted on another site having to do with studies on similar types of plants and more co2 didn't help, so it would seem we are often wasting our money running higher levels. Not only that, if you are running a generator, you are introducing more water and heat to the room.

nobody on here could say emphatically that one level works better than another because a study wasn't conducted or even researched. it is simply based on word of mouth, myth, and opinion.

I know of some good growers with excellent yields that run under 1000ppm's for nutes. A plant can either be very efficient via less ppm, or lazy and be overfed. This has been shown with studies done on agricultural crops. Obviously it is in the best interest of nutrient companies to endorse high ppm's in order to sell more of their product when lower levels will produce fantastic results.

Yeah man, I love brewing beer almost as much as growing. I'm just using my lung room space, you can set these up in any corner you could fit a 5 gallon container in. I have a air/bubble lock on top to keep bugs/germs out of my beer. Good to hear they have replacement dates, but I'm going to stick w/ beer brewing because it's cheap/effective way to get co2 and drink.
