ok, well how would i know for sure if its mites or not, that way i can act accordingly?

a good scope...there are some decent 150x ones out there that are pretty inexpensive then examine the underside of leaves.

No outside linking, gotta upload to the farm.

sorry dude but in your case id hope for a hidden herm in the lower nugs mites are truly a growers bane. you can check some of the calyxs on the lower nugs for a seed developing. spraying your plants with cold water 30 to 45 min before lights on will neutralize pollen but i wouldnt do that past the 5th week imo.
I would, in a heartbeat (and have). I don't think it's hermies in this case, for some reason, though.

got the scope and took a quick look. couldnt do a real thorough investigation due to it being in the night period but from what i saw taking a quick look, as to not disturb the ligh cycle too much, is no movement at all from any mites.. i will do another thorough investigation later on tonight when the lights come on

just talked to a good friend that has some experience and he thinks its due to high temps?

I' ve had the co2 burn, ripens the hairs overnight. But that was with a manual co2 set up, if you give them a big blast of co2, and it doesn't have to be for long. It will flip those hairs quick.

The low temps and high humidity sounds like it could be the cause. Plus you have a 20 degree diff between lights on and off. The low temp at lights off, i use to finnish, helps ripen my babies up.plus can bring out color. the moisture in the water will cling to the hairs and low temps will put a hurtin on em. your at week 4 you do not want the cooler nights yet. but 61 is not too low, its the 88% humidity...yowza

Thing is it usally takes longer to show with the cooler temps, the 12-20 hours fits more with the co2 burn. no co2 leaks?

whats she smell like? and new growth? new hairs?

mites dont normal effect the hairs to turn.
High temps you usually get leaf curl.
Just seen the pics, the leaves look ok, doesnt look mite infested.
Is it occuring on tops or all buds like some lower tucked away buds?

are you hitting 90 plus?

its hit 90 once maybe twice that i know of. any other time its been high its got up to the hight eighties. but my goal always is to keep my flower room under 83 and no lower than 75 for the day period, but these really hot colorado summer nights makes it very very difficult to keep it down under 85 at times

when you say co2 blast, can you be more specific on what actually needs to be done?
the smell is absolutely delightful and it looks awesome except those hairs. There is new growth from what i can tell but it seems that growth has slowed down a bit compared to the first 3 weeks of flower. its only in this fourth week that I've(1) had trouble controlling temperature and humidity and (2)started having problems with some of the pistils. It did start only with the bottom bud sites but now it seems that some of the top colas are suffering a bit now.
And now a bit of good news, my dehumidifier came in today and i got it all set up. so now humidity is under control for good. I have been keeping humidity between 40 and 50 since picking up the dehumidifier. Do you think thats a good range to stay in for flower?
Thank you so much for your input. i appreciate your time very very much.

The blast of co2 I'm refering to, is like when you open a valve and you go too far, type. or your readings are off or with DIY set up.
I had a small garden, nothing fancy. used co2 by various ways, sugar/yeast, dripping vinigar or lemon juice on to baking soda, misting with straight seltzer water.
well on the lemon drip into baking soda...Using a IV style drip bag into a cake pan of baking soda, a small fan that swings the iv dripper. plus pushes the co2 into grow.
co2 is heavier than air,but a fan will put it where you want it.
I was doing a drip per sec and it was dripping in a diff spot everytime. used this way for years.Lets say a malfution happened and too much lemon was released...
all in one spot... it didn't last very long but it made a gasser blast and it hit the first few plants that were close. next day the hairs looked just like yours.

But I think yours was caused by the temp and humidity flux...and you had it right at a point when they change gear from stretching and extra foilage to bract swelling and forming, so wigged out.
Hopefully with the new dehumider... you'll see improvement. keep us posted:happy:

Dub you said that the browning of the pistols is on the lower part of the plant and you also mentioned that they were big girls.

I have noticed in the past that when i dont skirt larger plants with a dense canopy sometimes the lower pistols turn red or brown early. Which I assumed was due to lack of light penitration.

If it is only at the lower sites you may in the future just want to cut out the shaded areas. But I would like to see a picture of the whole plant and its density up top before making that recomendation.

It started at the bottoms but there is a few colas now that its happening to. not many but it is happening at the tops. im gonna give a few days and make sure the environment is right and see what they do.

so its been about a week and im not seeing anymore pistils turning on me. everything looks great. I think the rediish browning was caused from a combination of really high humidity (before i got my dehumidifier) right when the lights go out plus a severe temperature drop due to me not paying attention to the ac. but i got everything dialed in now and things are looking stellar! thanks everyone for all the advice and help

Had the same thing happen to me when I first got my new room up and runnin. The new Blueprint CO2 controller my local store recommended took a shit and dumped an entire 35lb bottle overnight leaving the few plants I had in the room sitting in 8000ppm + CO2 levels overnight. The hairs turned brown and looked like they were trying to mature minus the resin and full buds. The younger plants were able to bounce back but the older plants never did. MGG
