I've seen it get powdery mildew, stretch, die early, have pH shock, heat shock, you name it.

While other strains did just fine, same exact conditions. Every one I know has it and everyone I know agrees it's not a beginner strain.

Not arguing. Just sharing the experience of many otherwise successful people.

There are others much better for a beginner.
Just my experience and of others I have met.

OGs or little indicas that pump out sticky, stinky, CONSISTENT candelabras would be a more appropriate choice in my experience.

NL#5 is a fantastic legacy strain but I doubt it's potency. It's nowhere near modern strains, based on % of thc

THC is not the only cannabinoid. Ditchweed hemp carried over from the last era here in the united states has astronomically high cbd, that many breeders wish they could come close to matching. Lest you've been on a trip to the american heartland, you probably wont.

Modern weed being stronger is UK propaganda to push their globalist anti weed agenda. "The Super Skunk" is not going to kill us all. Its not even as potent or stinky as the original skunk from the united states. 100% british bullshit. The grow techniques are better is all that happened and even that is debatable, anyone in the know would tell you modern weed is diluted from what we had in the 80's and early 90's. Backcrossed, selfed, autoed, feminised.

Hell I smoked some BC Bigbud that put me on my ass just yesterday! Fuckin couldnt even talk to my wife, just shut me the fuck up.

Come to oregon and get a cut of the NL#5 and stop talkin shit. Doubting its potency... HA! The reek of rotten peanuts and vicks vapor rub, one sniff and you would know its the real deal medicinal quality bud of the highest order.

Northern Lights # 5 is under 14% THC

Most strains I run are over 20, and one is a verified 25%.

Fuck, offered to give you a cut. Cred has nothing to do with it, you either have had it or you havent, and if you think it isnt potent you just havent had it, or it wasnt grown to its potential. Like the lion dude said, most modern weed can be traced back to NL. It won the cannbis cup in 89 when it was first entered, again in 1998, and again in 2009.If it wasnt potent, that just wouldnt happen.

If someone grew it out right, it has a chance to rank at the top among the best weeds in the world today as well.

You can leave it where ever you want, but I'm pretty sure OG kush was around in 2009 and it got its ass kicked by NL#5. You can chase the flavor of the week, thats cool, but dont say the flavor of the last couple decades doesnt compare.

What I was saying is that THC is not the only thing that makes marijuana potent. You could smoke something with 8% and still get knocked on your ass because of high content in other area. We're talking potency AND yield, OG's are not part of the conversation.

Love shishkaberry! It tastes like no other strain except "honey bear". I crossed it with "doc's medicine" and had it tested. 21.38% thc, .5% cbd's and 2.44 cbn's. Many people were interested because of the high cbn's.

And I agree that "potent" means different things.

Charlottes Web has NO thc but is the most potent cbd/cbn strain around.

NL#5 is a great strain. I figured the poster wanted hc %

I had a snocap that turned into my headstash.
The other day I shared a nug. 3 experienced smokers (plus me) rolled 1 regular sized J. They begged off with 1/3rd left to go. Sticky as all fuck. Wish I still had the cut.

Yes it's close, I let it go 55 days with CO2 and it will knock your socks off. Never had a stretch problem, it's the best plant to cut your teeth on and what I start all the new growers on. I don't know how many times I have pulled out a nug and smoked some people up, only for them to to say what the fuck is this shit than go into extreme couch-lock. Everybody wants some kind of new shit that's better than the last new shit but the truth is NL would still win CC Cups today and is still killer. There are lots of NL#s out their and some are so so but get the real thing and everyone wants to be your best friend. Just don't tell them it's NL till after they smoke it, they won't believe you.
