Just need a bit of advice on which way to go with this one.
I will start off that I've got 10+yrs on and off growing and only around 3yrs with breeding. With that being said here's my problem.

I've had my clones growing very well. (Blue Dream, Black Indica, Animal Cookie) but have noticed that there are fucking seeds forming on all of them. Now, no pollen has been in there since I pollenated my last grow (Jack Herer x Ron Swanson pollen) and I haven't seen any nanners, balls ect. Could there have been herme flowers that popped up, released pollen then died before I noticed? (48 hrs Max) or is it more likely that there was some stray pollen floating around? I feel I cleaned very well before throwing my clones in the space...
Ok, now here's the real issue. Would it be safe to assume that the Jack Herer x Ron Swanson pollen was floating around or does it sound more like a herme issue? I don't mind the seed but don't want to muck up what I've been working on so far... Toss them or grow them out? Sorry for the bad pics and for bad lighting, no better lighting available ATM. Just trying to show the seed pods.

pollen stays viable for up to 4 days... so scratch that off the list.

going with hermie, that bud is way to far along to have pollinated ,there would be a lot more seeds to buy now, when i pollinate my girls, and they took,i put them right back in flower tent with the others after i rinse and dry the girl, when i cleanup, every thing get scrubed even lights and filter ducts,,not sure of the 4 day thang but aint giving it a chance either,,finish them out, smoke is smoke, and what harm is there in seeds in it anyway, smoke it,hell back when i did buy my weed i never even knew what sensimilla was, every bag you got had seeds, lmao

Did you clean well... If its nice and dry that pollen sits for long time.

I don't have a problem with seeds at all lol I've been developing a strain for a few years now and was going to pollenate more clones later after I saw the traits of these clones. Now, all the seed I used for the mothers we're supposed to be feminized. So if one or more did Hermie wouldn't the resulting seed be feminized as well? If that's the case I'll keep them. After harvesting it might be easier to locate Hermie Flowers and determine the culprit. Then I can track genetics. If I can't find any Hermie Flowers then I will assume that it's older pollen that was hanging out some where. But I too am leaning towards Hermie Flowers. Just don't see any. At all.

i wouldnt keep them, just for this reason,if one day shit goes legal and you get in a crunch, you might want to sale some seeds, cause i asure you seeds will go for bigger bucks if it legal if you dig,,but if you can keep track of all that go hard,,like i said smoke is smoke, but consumers want what is labeled for the sale,as far as the feminised go i dont deal with them at all, cause somewere down the line someone either used the silver or some other crazy method ,i use nothing but reg's it too easy and sex, then clone or just go from there,im just into the natrual way of doing stuff,,this much i know is that i have kept pollen mixed with flour in a jar inside my fridge and year later use it,ive done it,,what i do is this,i have a 2x4x7 tent and stick it out on back patio, put a small fan inside and turn on low, then put the girls inside it,then my male, close everything up and reach threw side hole for intake on bottom of tent, reach in there and shake the shit out of male,i do this for 3 days,no light either, after 3 days i pull the girls out, take a spray bottle and drench the crap over and under all leaves spray soil and sit them under my ceiling fan i have out there and let them dry completly off, when dry i stick them right into the flower room,,if the male still looks descent i will collect the pollen of floor of the tent ,depending on how much i get depends on how much flour to use,i try to go 1:1 then put in fridge,,after all that work bleach the shit out of tent and set a veg tent up and roll,if you dig,,ive only had 1 plant herm in all my years and it was caused buy a light on the power strip,it also didnt pollinate the others in the room, smoke was great though, the seeds i kept for my dream of a field of green when shit go legal and upon my death maybe one these boys will fill in dads foot steps,,you seen the gif of the shepard dog in a field of weed,i want to be that dog hahahah

I agree with others, it's probably from a herm. And avoid that seed at all cost unless you want to seed some remote ditches.

Here's my method of deactivating any remnant pollen. First I flower out all my males in the male room and collect all the pollen. After a few days of collecting I usually have enough for the entire project. That night I leave the lights on 24/0 and turn off all fans and HVAC. Pollen hates heat and moisture. By the time I go in there the next day it's been around 90*F and 90% RH. Everything should be dead. I then chop my males and depending on size they either go directly into a 55 gal drum of water to die, or go straight into the chipper. That night I leave the lights on and the HVAC off again. The next day I enter and clean the room as normal.

I usually move females in right after that and then flip them to 12/12 immediately, there's usually another couple weeks before they start to flower so I feel very comfortable there is not extraneous pollen.

If you're growing in a tent and want to try this, use a pan of water at the bottom of your tent to raise the humidity, otherwise I'm not sure you can achieve 90%.

I love the details offered up by my fellow seed makers.

Let me be more clear on the question of keeping, even suspect, hermy genetics.
I'd offer that it is irresponsible to allow them to be grown.
Chicken feed.

My pollination methods are simple.
Wrap a colored pipe cleaner on the stem, above which I intend to pollinate.
After four weeks of 12/12, go into the basement under head lamp, during lights out, and remove target plants into the dark basement.
Protect target bud with plastic bag.
Water mist the entire plant.
Remove bag, and dab all pistols above the marker with a Q-tip dipped in pollen.
Return plant to garden in the morning.

Great info! Thanks but I also use the qtip method and have been with great success... When I harvest, I'll have the ability to better look deep into the flowers to look for hermies. I too suspect Hermie pollen. I just need the evidence I seek lol

Update: Found the culprit! One of my Black Indica clones had one small nanner barely poking out. It had busted open some time ago I believe cause I looked dead and dry... Now, none of my other Black Indica clones hermied. Nore did the mother... I wonder what caused it to happen? No light leaks, no pH imbalance ect... IDK why this one did and none of the others did. Hmmm I guess nature finds a way lol
