hey farmers. all good?

so gh 3 part was using the drain to waste schedule. before transplant i saw the ec getting high so did a 1\4 strength flush to 500ppm and 6 ph

ok.

they all started to turn white! so i thought more nitrogen and was feeding full stength 3rd week drain to waste waiting for them to recover. 3 weeks ive ben fighting this.

read runoff again 10 days ago and was high so i flushed with the 321 program. they are now getting worse and dying

they are in 2 gallon pots ph going in at 5.8 to 6
ppm now is like 420

to me the roots are sooooooo weak and nothing is growing.

this all kinda started after trying to adjust how i water. ive been reading alot about how people in coco gets their roots crazy growth watering everyday. i used to let it dry before watering again. was feeding everyday. then the problems and now back to letting them dry.

but the roots really are weak

please any help is appreciated. im kinda loosing my mind as to what to do

No!!!!dont let yir coco and pots dry out!feed everyday with fresh nutes.twice a day if u can.be patient.all your other perameters seem ok.
The watering evetday thing seems counter intuitive to a soil grower but if u feed every day with fresh oxygen rich nutes your roots will start to come in.have faith

I believe it is the right way to water all the time. But Everytime I try they look like shit and I want to go back to letting them dry a day.

I grow in coco. It looks like you have a salt build up from allowing the coco to dry out. If it was me, I would flush the coco with 3x the volume of the pot, using a weak (200ppm) nutrient solution, and begin daily feeding of about 500-600 ppm until you see healthy new growth. I cannot stress enough the importance of never letting the coco dry out, as you see the result if you do. The salt build up is cumulative and will effect the plant more and more as you progress in your grow if not corrected. The burned leaves will not recover and I would remove them. Once new growth resumed I would adjust the feed strength up as needed.

I also recommend you use an enzyme like Bio-Cozyme or SLF-100. It will help break down the built up salts in the medium, and get your root zone in order. Some beneficial microbes wouldn’t hurt either, if your not already using them.

Keep in mind, even if you turn them around, your yield may be negatively affected due to the extent of the damage. If you don’t have too much invested it may be better to start over. Good luck either way.

That's what I did yesterday. Flushed and today made a Rez with 6/9

So now I wait

Cheers buddy. This is killing me. What feed schedule do u use?

I like the 6/9 the only thing is that it has such a low pH in my Rez when mixed. Like 5.4 and I always hate adding up
@Thejoeybrown uses SI to raise his ph. Gh's version is armor si

The reason it lowers ur ph is cuz it has ph buffers in it and when u use ro water it lowers ph

Unfortunately I live somewhere where gh 3 part is a blessing. I don't have access to much. Basically Coco and GH

So I always use up to get it to 5.8

I always in my head think 5.5 is to low I'm always to scared to leave it

But this is where I trip out.

Water everyday, but they are wet and heavy from yesterday still. This is where I would normally wait...

I pulled 4 of the worst and their was like 2inches of dead roots. The rest of the pot was just wet.

I can see how high ppm in the 2 gallon would keep the roots from growing. It killed all the roots from the transplant. But the wet.. it seems like it's stopping it too. Or the top layer of Coco is drying out bf the roots establish themselves.

These girls are in straight coco coir. The Hydroton is only an inch thick layer to deter bugs. They have been auto fed 3 times a day since I planted them in 4” square pots after rooting. Then to 1gal pots. They are in 3gal pots now. They have been vegging for about 5 weeks. The smaller one on the right is an auto I just popped for fun. It is also in straight coco and has also been watered once a day by hand.

I know it sounds counterproductive to water daily, but trust me, in straight coco it’s necessary for success.

i use straight coco, gh 6/9 and I water 4-6 times a day veg and flower. automate the watering man it's super cheap and you can do it with stuff from a hardware store.

pond pump
1/2" pvc and fittings
1/8" lines

are the bare essentials to automate.

I'm almost sure that you could have root bound issues. If you are growing in 2 gallon pots. When growing photo period plants you want atleast a 5gal pot and with autos 3 gallon pots. I grow in coco Loco and I let my medium dry and feed every 3 days. I have no problems like this!
