the spider farmer lights on the jungle are sweet IMO and the price is right. i run four of the 1000's in a @MarsHydroLED 5x5 and have light for days. here is a link
https://www.spider-farmer.com/products/sf-1000-led-grow-light i'm sure others will offer better suggestions or better lights or trash these but, bang for the buck these are killing it in my tent! also you can angle these to hit the sides of plants etc, very cool low heat.

lemme get a open tent and i will order us up a light for a 2x4 and see how it does with 2 or 3 auto's. i'm coming at this from a budget, new growers, small indoor guys etc. there has to be a large market for this type of grower or the market for these products would fail to exist. also as far as LED's go at least direct the guy away from anything blue/purple like some of the aforementioned LED's in the thread, in other words mars can't be worse than say a burple vivosun or is it?

They grow plants sure but at a much lower efficiency than a good set of components and with far less reliability.

Nothing to prove but their advertising worked on you.

no, no advertising here man, just you guys bad mouthing em all the time. if you consider that advertising than "congratulations player, you did the work for em". me, i'm just willing to play along and see what happens. as far as i have heard they have made some major improvements. but since i have never bought or owned one i can not attest to this, perhaps you can elaborate on your experience as a owner of one of their products?
as i'm upgrading or replacing a cheap light that works well, mind you. and i'm not trying to produce a arce! i think i'll kick the tires at some point, although i do love the spider farmer lights i bought off amazon. bought 3 from the jungle and 1 from them directly and theirs took two weeks to arrive!! amazon had them on my door step in 2 days, i love amazon

They havent improved anything the lighting industry has. They still use the cheapest parts available.

The cheapest parts are better than the old stuff is all.

And just you saying you will prove the light works with all the hate doesnt prove anything but that their sham advertising worked on you. You should know there are nuch better options even in their price range. Which isnt cheap enough for their builds in my opinion.

I havent switched to led yet. These bullshit companies and wild claims of performance is the main reason why.

right on guys you win, i won't buy one! last thing i want is to piss off a bunch of users here when i'm new here myself. and for the fucking record i do not own a fucking mars light!!!!! i own a tent i bought on sale and its great ! i'm sure you guys can bash on my spider farmer LED's or whatever isn't the latest, greatest or most expensive shit known to man. i did my own research when i decided on lights and not once did i ask here on this forum for this very reason. lights seem like cars or dicks around here. who has the bigger one! at my age i do not give a fuck... i'm test driving a sweet mini van this week :) also" i never told the guy to buy one" ?? hell i didn't even vote as i know nothing about either of his choices. as for your choice in lights and hate towards LED's, well really ask yourself who besides you gives a fuck about your tent? run what your brung brother
you and that other cat keep throwing the word hate around and attaching it to me and my comments. that is untrue, the hate here today is from you guys towards mars LEDs and most LED's as i can tell. i was merely illustrating that if someone bad mouths something enough people begin to wonder. but don't worry i won't purchase a light from them and to be honest, i would suggest @MarsHydroLED pull their support of this forum in light of all the negative comments and hate directed at them as a company. i still love my tent. good talking to you guys this morning, i'm over this thread so reply or not i won't read it.

it’s not about winning dude. It’s aboutthe way they have conducted business that has driven many of us to really despise the company, but not you. It’s not about the biggest and the best. I run all quantum board 132’s. You can get 4 of them
For under 150$. I run 9 per 4x4. I built everything as to not spend a ton and still end ip
With top of the line lighting. You got all upset over nothing 😘 happy grows. Ps hlg makes their qb288 in the US. Another reason I often recommend them.

death bubba in a 4x4 using their "useless" mars II 900. 2 plants, 12.4 oz dried. 80 percent of it being very nice quality, and that was only 5 weeks from seedling to switch.

i think youre just one of those people that heard they suck in the past (which they likely would have been) and now thats just a go to thing to say.
maybe youre too good for budget lighting, thats cool. but some people are new to the game. its prebuilt.
i dont hate you for this, its just simply not accurate. they work now lol
but i hate to break it to you, they can grow stuff

This. I've seen quite a bit of nonsense in the claims. And I don't really do hate this or that. But I do know the technology pretty well. Price alone is probably a poor guide - I'm looking for how heat is dissapated ( LED lifetime is largely a function of how hot the device runs in normal use ) and what happens when certain elements fail - Composite LED lamps have a variety of sources to create a PAR spectrum. If devices fail - the spectrum shifts. And that is equivalent to having an old bulb that needs replacement. But in this case, unless you are capable of repairing the lamp - you have to replace the fixture to recover proper spectrum.

I just want to point out that I think the best reason for not going with mars hydro is that by spending roughly only 25% more per watt you could have a timber or hlg. Some of the hlg lights were even cheaper per watt than mars hydro during the black friday sale. These "cheap" leds just aren't that much less expensive than many of the better options. I just don't understand how such a small amount of savings can entice people away from more proven and respected led manufacturers.

I've been using LED for several years now. But I did use a vendor that discontinued production - however the basic technology is unique. In my lamps - all the LEDs are the same. They excite a phosphor that produces the light I use that is a broadband white light. The company still makes lamps - but for vertical indoor stuff - t5 or t8 form factor I think.

Would two of these be better?

Meijiu Novedades 2020 Hlg 550 V2 480W Fomex, Shenzhen Indoor Garden Growing IR

im a little nervous about buying a random chinese brand and running it all day but a few people mentioned them and i was thinking about trying them

I would stay away from Chinese brands and stuff on alibaba as they are so fake or use low bin shitty diodes and u can kiss the warranty good bye for the most part....Quality does cost that's just what it is...Idk if you would be able to save up and get a better quality of light as you won't be happy with what you have found so far...And also with alibaba they will say the new boards has samsung 301h diodes and they are 301b still granite they are a great diode the 301h were made for horticulture and has a sulfur coating they also have 3.03umole/j which is something you have to look for if you decide to go the Chinese route...
Personally I would choose strip lighting they have better coverage and more even esp in the corners...
I have a 8x4 tent as well and I have x4 hlg 320xl v1 boards however I am selling them after 1 grow as I found something else that is more for what I want the lights work great I just want more tuneability out of them like spectrum tuning which I can't get with them so selling them and going to get some scynce led raging Kush x2 for my 8x4 and my veg tent a 4.6x4.6 will have x2 raging kales by scynce as well which I hope I get shortly hopefully. Before I get to bloom ...

Wondering what led lights would be better for my tent. I have a 8’x4’ tent, it will have 4 flowering plants in it with 2 lights. There will be a light on the left side over 2 plants and a light on the right side over 2 plants. I am trying to decide between 2 lights. I was wondering if someone with experience knows what would be better for my grow.

(These are what i think are the best options in my price range)
Two of the “ Mars hydro TSW 2000w “
Or
Two of the “ Bestva dc series 3000w “

I read somewhere that the yellow full spectrum is better because it is closer to actual sunlight that is why i was considering the mars hydro. But the bestva lights are 3000w instead of 2000w but the light is purple not yellow.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
I know that they are low end and I’m absolutely sure that it can be better, but the bestva is working for me. It probably won’t last, but for the price and not knowing how much I would use them and the learning curve with growing in general, I went with it. Im running a watt inflated 1000w and 1500w bestva. Next light purchase will be a better quality.

dont be ashamed of being on a budget. if its working at all, its working. growing plants isnt a "go big or go home" situation for 90% of us. most people, especialy those starting out, are simply looking to save money, not smoke premium connoisseur flower
