I’ve window browsed forums for awhile and finally decided to join up and try and get some real help. I am a medical patient in IL and am now legally allowed to grow for myself. I was lucky enough to get my hands on 5 clones that were some guys ugly ducklings. This guy naturally did not label the cuttings, so the genetics are venom OG and strawberry fields. No idea which is which or what the ratio is. I also popped 3 feminized ‘snow blaze’ seeds at the same time I got the clones.

Don’t want to turn my first post into a novel so I’ll hit a few highlights and wait for some folks to chime in. Clones went into a 4x4 vivosun tent under an agrobrite T5. I think it’s a 24x48. I was still very much in the planning stages and wasn’t really expecting the clones to come through. That being said things have gone pretty well for the minimal amount of equipment I’m using while I try and figure out what my big move is gonna be for a flowering space, mom/veg space, and propagation space.

The plants are all in FFOF, the clones are now in 10gal smart pots and the little guys are in 5gal smart pots. Took delivery on clones and planted seeds one month ago today. I started out giving them a little B-52 and liquid seaweed. I have since added in the microbial URB, as well as photosynthesis plus and molasses. I have been using a mix of RO water and large jugs of purified water and a 3 gal pump sprayer. (One of many things I’m looking to upgrade)

so I’ve got some pics to upload and get some feedback on. I’ve struggled with getting my humidity up over 50%. Temperatures have been pretty good. Never dropped below 75 and never above 84. Currently have 2 topfill humidifiers in the tent running 24/7. Lights are at 18/6. 3 small fans places at 3 different heights to circulate the air in the tent. I don’t have any

Hi there!

I'm a medical patient, too. Your plants are all over the place, huh? How fun! I am a new grower myself, sort of. I used to grow years and years ago, now I'm aging myself. Nice to meet you!

You'll get plenty of answers soon.

Start with the pH of your incoming and outgoing water, and your ppm.

What medium are you growing in? What's the light schedule?

@dire wolf, do they look a little weak?

Hey bud what's up! everything looks pretty good in general, I'm also a soil grower so if you have any specific questions tag me in or stop by 'the beach house' in grow Diaries, good luck!

Welcome!

Not sure which Strawberry Fields that you got there....there are 2 that I know of. I have grown and continued to grow (and breed) the SF from Crockett. That is one is Strawberry Banana x Tangie. I am beginning my F3 (3rd gen) run right now, and I have seen both sides expressed in my grows. For the most part, my Crockett SF has Indica type leaves (wider), but of late the Tangie side has begun to show, which is evidenced by longer and thinner leaves.
1st is the male..next the female..

Nice beginning you have and happy growing!

Plants are definitely all over the place. I am growing in soil, fox farms ocean forest. pH between 6.5 and 7 on water going out. I have a blue lab combo meter but haven’t tested pH or ppm of runoff. The 4th or 5th pic is of a pair of gelato clones I got from a friend who had just gone into 2nd day of flower. Trying to keep them alive AND get them back to veg with 24/0 lighting. The 4x8 tent is on an 18/6. Just a big t5 fixture. I have 2 fluence spydrx plus lights that I have not set up yet. Trying to decide what size gorilla tents to order.

Your plants look great!
Not sure why you want a PH of 6.5-5.8 though. Mine are also in FF soils (Strawberry Fields and Happy Frog) and I try for 6.2-6.8.
(did the same when I use the OF). In fact I get better results at the lower end of the scale. I use cheapo pens, but a chemical test kit to check the ph..as well as the pens.

Whatever you are doing..it looks very well done! Kudos.

Just remember that in IL if you get "caught" with over 5 plants it is a felony. Odds are you will not be caught unless like others have said a scorned person screws ya over. It is killing me because I am a person of excess and tend to overdo everything I get into. Plants look awesome and I live in IL also and need to go to my Dr to get a medical card. I am fairly confident he will reccomend one. Ive dealt with a bulging disk for a while now and this BS insurance in the country wants you to spend a million dollars on top of your ridiculous premiums and deductions. Its FK'd up. Give me 120 Tramadol a month but do everything in their power to not just fix me!

Not sure in IL.' but usually if a cutting has no roots, it cannot be classified as a plant. They are simply plant PARTS and not plants.

ie: you can take cuts, and wrap them in a wet paper towel..put into a ziplock baggie, and blow into the bag before sealing it up for CO2, and putting it into the fridge (I use a veggie drawer in the fridge) The cuts will be fine for the 1st 2 weeks before the viability begins to drop.

If they are viable when you transplant into your media,..they will explode and grow quite fast (like coming out of stasis)

I have so much to learn still. I wish I had your knowledge but it is going to be fun to learn.

Cuttings definitely don’t have any roots yet.. I’ve been checking about every 12 minutes or so 😂 — I am a medical Patient so 5 plants is completely legal. After that it becomes a civil penalty of $200. But I’m really just trying to collect genetics at this point. But I really still have no idea what my long term plan is. I am really interested in training. Trying to shape some of these plants. Particularly interested in how I take maybe one or two that seem the strongest and turning them into moms that I can take a good amount of cuttings from. Space really isn’t an issue for me. But purchasing 3-4 gorilla tents and everything that goes with them could turn out to be a little more pricey than I was hoping for.

Also wondering if these long and leggy clones, which have been in veg for about a month are too far gone to start training, and if I can train.. will that help to thicken up the lower branching. They are looking super skinny to me. Also purchased a couple of AC infinite’s so I’m hoping that some real air exchange will help them.

Pictures?

Many clones that I take get spindly..after a bit of LST and supercropping later on..most fill out just fine and explode when flipped.
The GG#4 crosses have been the toughest to clone for me.

I am anxious to start my first grow! I plan on talking my Dr to give me a card. I should qualify IMO. Those Infinity fans seem nice and are quiet. I tested mine and was impressed how quiet it is. Good luck with your grows I will be following along!

I’ve got 3 small fans placed at 3 different heights pushing the air around in there. Last night I finally sort of got some air exchange going. Cloudline S6 up top with a carbon filler. The ducting wasn’t really fitting around the end of the filter very well so it isn’t air right but I’m sure I can either get the ducting to stretch a little more or use some of that wonderful gorilla tape I hear about on here frequently. I also had my first attempt at “training” on the two lankiest ones.. will upload a few pictures when I can force myself to take said pictures.

Yes just one large t5-8 bulb. I have a pair of fluence spydrx plus but haven’t hung them because I’m planning on moving to a gorilla tent and I’m worried about the cheap vivosun tent being able to support them.

I am also curious if anyone has an info on whether there would be pros/cons to going with a 5x9 tent instead of the 4x8 with using those fluence lights? Would I be giving myself more space to work or reducing the efficacy of the lights?
