Ok question. How many plants under those 2 sf4ks? In what size space?

i have 24 plants under two SP-4000 spread over a 1.2m x 2.4m space in 2 gal coco ☺
I think that is similar to my 8x4. I put an extra sf2k next to each sf4k just to help with that canopy coverage. I do notice the par drops a bit at the edges. That is a lot of plants under that space. Are you doing all short plants?

Yeah i agree with you the par drops at the edges way too much for my liking, i think the leds are a little too close on the boards, maybe they could be spread out a little more? and yeah most of my plants are short

Yes. What I should have done was buy 2 sf2ks instead of a sf4k. Spread it out a little and get a better overlap and smooth out that huge ppfd value in the middle.

some sundae driver s1 seeds from divine genetics and also some bubba cookies a few different phenos
Nice :) Great job! Plants look beyond awesome. The fact that you are using SF on your personal grow? That's a pretty smashing endorsement indeed. Probably need to rethink my position on these lights...

it's kind the nature of the beast. The solution would be to spread out the lights, because there running at 120 degrees and all your par's in the center. All your ppfd is having them up close, it's built into the design. Also, you don't want to get too high or spread out on these lights, the best thing, is to button them down, close as possible. Like you say, either the 2000's or even 1000's would be the way to go, depending on cost. Or maybe even a mix of different ones, to fill in the spots, but clearly the 4000's are on the extreme of the footprint for that for that particular wattage.

Personally I think re-engineering them, spreading them out would do huge things, The quality is there. (allowing it to be put closer, over a bigger area) but the cost would have to reflect that in materials, I suppose. That's why I was suggesting another line to him actually.

Awwww sorry to bruise your delicate sensibilities bud. But I don't see you speaking to anything I said. Just a few names and some pics. Never said anything about your grows being terrible. Just pointing out your obvious bullshit. Nice plants pics btw. They look a lot different than the stretchy ones you showed us a couple months ago with 6 to 8 inch internode spacing that were falling over. Regression must be tough to deal with.

Here's some more "strechy" ones. There actually trimmed, since you despise them so much, I butchered them just for your satisfaciton.

Here's the rest of everything with the rooms being finally reorganized. Chuck Full of seed.

Good insights but that guy is someone who has been around for a long time and knows lots of tricks.

What brand were you going to recommend?

If I was going to recommend a brand and money is not the issue, it would be of course the gavita pro 1700 I'm in the middle of trying to build sometihing very similar, or perhaps maybe improve upon the model actually, well see. I've got the strips already, waiting on supplies.

But these lights are excellent for the price.

The lights my buds were grown on here is the Best va 3000 and 4000 series.

LOL, thanks for the input.

Here's your photo Mhippy, you earned it. Of my "scraggly seedy" plant.

Yeah I cant get past size restrictions. And yes I'm limiting the shit out of what I post up. I've got this auto that just started spitting flower. It's close to 5ft. Was hoping for 6 but I'm not sure there is much flower stretch left in it. It would be hard to get indoor light coverage on that thing. It's one of the reasons I like to flower under the sun.

I do flower either very short strains or little bonsai trees during the winter inside. And I'm thinking about replacing one of my flouro fixtures with an LED. I'm still using T5HOs for veg lol :))) The space is 2 x 6 so a 2x4 and a 2x2 would probably do it right.

That gravitas is way too big for me in think. 1300 or so for a winter hobby project? Yeah then my life would probably turn gray until my wife had. a chance to hit Saks lol!!!!

I got sick of them bastards just hanging there. I was going to take these out to the land earlier in the year just never got around to it, wife was not having a good summer with the epilepsy so I stayed around a lot more. So they just got crammed in the flowering room, dumped with autopollens and did what they could. I took tape and wrapped the lower branches up so they could at least make some more seed pods., they might not have any bud to speak of, but there's like 5-10 nice size seeds in almost every flower along the bottom, so it is, what it is....

I want to get one of those presses, because I think I've got a lot of rosin in my future. If I can get them to grow outside without much help, that could be a good way of doing things, seed what I want, and rosin up everything else. I wonder how many plants it would take to make a pound or rosin?

A TON. I was doing a hot press but now I just make bubble hash. easier and faster. I sunk like 2 LBs into bubble hash in like 30 minutes. Well the fine filter took forever to drain but other than that works great. I will do rosin for my topicals or tinctures for cbd though.

Gotcha, I tend to agree if I got a ton of outdoor flowers, I'm going to probably make keif or hash out of what I can, try and get them pure crystals, then do whatever with the leftovers. I'm just trying to devise a way to get maximum yields with a proven method that works, and I will be happy about it all. The wifey could use a few ounces of concentrates herself, (epilepsy) and I've got a friend just diagnosed with prostate cancer, I want to help him also. I once bought a few ounces of nice keif way back for like $5 a gram, and it lasted us a long, long while. I would like to replicate that method, maybe a tumbler and a press, so I don't have to deal with solvents, except if I do the press, I will certainly consider making RSO out of what's left of it, if anything. possibly.
