I read once and have found to be true that it takes about 3 grows to start to see what’s going on and get the hang of it started. My second year I started improving a lot.
I have 2 different tents, so I can have a few started feeling begging. So I’m hopin if this setup fails I got a couple right behind it to improve on.

I also have a few autos started, they just poked through the dirt today. Will be using everyone’s advice to improve on, i definetely stunted the clone for a while. It’s at week 5. Hoping this new light does me well. If not, I’m just gonna go with a SpiderFarm. Everyone keeps recommending Spider Farm to me

Yeah man I seen some of the photos on your profile and you underwater on a few of those sadly, those ones on farther weeks of veg you wanna water all that soil and keep it moist
Thank you for the advice and feedback I’ll definitely have to start doing that. Flushed all my plants with just ph balanced water until the runoff was clear had a good ph level. Gonna start over again with nutrients tomorrow, got them settling in the water right now and I’ll ph balance it tomorrow. Wish me luck!

When you get a ppm meter or ec meter that’s gonna help and for the future you don’t have to plain ph “”flush to adjust the soil levels. You can do a few feeds at a lower ppm to make the over all solution in the soil go down until it’s squares off closer to your feed. Luckily with the GH trio it’s real easy to hit to 600ish ppms and get that mixing rhythm down.

that’s good to know I’m going with a decent nutrient solution. So sounds like I’m running to grab a ppm meter tomorrow. I did flush, now that I think about it it’s been about a week or so since I’ve given her a good nutrient feed just cal mag... live and learn

Trying my best too. General hydroponic says 4ml per gallon I use half. However I did just purchase a PH pen, and my runoff was at 7.5 and using coco coir that can cause lockout right?
Also, I ran water throughout it the entirety of the medium until the runoff was clear and had a good ph level. Gonna give em a day or two before I feed them any more nutrients. I’m aiming for my ph now to be in the 6.1 area, is that okay? I use general hydroponics flora series as well with cal mag plus. I have guano, don’t know how much good it would do for me though using the other nutrients. Haven’t used yet. Water once a day at most, don’t over water my plants, or at least try my best not to. Check my plants, I posted them on my profile!
You probably already know this, but when you add cal-mag to water it does raise PH.

I am in week 7 of flower. Using Fox Farm Big Bloom with GH bloom plus cal mag and Humbolt Oneness. Never flushed this entire run. Started the bloom after flower stage. Will flush next Saturday for a week and Harvest.

Yeah it’s 70/30 pre mixed
Ok, well I’m a new grower myself, so I cant help diagnose things like these guys can. I can tell you that the stuff you’re using is not straight coco. It is amended with a lot of different organic amendments, and needs to be treated like amended soil. I’m still learning as well. I used coco loco the first couple of times and now I’m trying ocean forest.

You will make plenty of mistakes along the way, I’m still making them now lol

ok but the info you posted is not correct.
I dont see where any info he/she offered was inncorrect. He was using a ph kit similar to testing swimming pool water, not the ph drops we use to calibtrate the pens. You dip out a little bit of your water out and add a few drops of the colored(red usually) drops to the sample and compare the final color to the chart. Not very accurate at all like they said.
I would never use my tap water to feed my plants straight out of the faucet. It gets sent through the ro filter.

I was thinking about purchasing a ro filter. For now I just buy gallons of distilled water, add nutrients etc. still have lots of room for improvement and there’s still a lot of room for errors. Just ordered a halfway decent LED light I plan to use to veg autos in my 4x4 and then probably just gonna grab a few hps bulbs for flowering them on the other side of my 4x8x7

ok but most tap water can not affect medium ph. And unless you have pretty hard water or bacteria or something bad ro is a huge waste. Even if water is high in alkalinity it is recommended to mix with tap down to about 150 ppm. Why finance the nutrient companies cal mag budget? Or the expensive water filters when not needed.

Most dont mention water quality but talk of ph adjusting and testing. Water changes immediately when it hits the medium.

What about after adding nutes to the water and it brings the ph down to around 5? Adjust ph back up then or just let the medium do it?

if my mix got as low as 5 ph I would add silica (dyna grow protekt) first so it would stay between 5.5 and 6.5.

But as long as there isn’t nute buildup it may not even need adjustment the lime or oyster shell (calcium) will raise the ph back up in the medium.

to learn about this read about alkalinity in water for gardening.
