Microscope: I have two huge desk versions because I'm a micro hobbiest but those probably won't help with the grow, heh.
Reading up on trics: Check
Drying method: Check... going to branch dry by hanging from a post in the tent and mostly dry-trim later. Maybe some paper bags before the jars.
Mason Jars: X
Boveda packets: Check

But stop stressing me out man! I haven't even flipped yet! 😄
time sneaks up on ya, availability in some things may be an issue, my form of encouragement has no sugar on it! Get er dun! Lol

The girls were looking thirsty this morning so I mixed 5 gallons of RO plus 2.5 teaspoons of Recharge and 5 teaspoons of Epsom salts and split that between the 3 gallon crew. This was my first time using Recharge but it seems simple enough and super convenient since I don't have to brew a tea. Pricey but it looks like the bag will last a good long while.

Tent070

I followed that up by mixing a quarter cup of the CoM Stoneingtons plant food with ~3/4 cup of fresh soil per plant and scratched that into the top surface of the soil. This was my first feeding in veg but it probably should have been my second according to CoM's general guidelines. Also, I didn't realize until after feeding that this food also includes Epsom salts. Hopefully between that and what I added to the water it won't be enough to cause me any toxicity issues.

COMPF

I also did a little more LST because I can't help myself and then some very light defoliation. I feel like I should be doing more defoliation because its getting a dense just below the canopy surface, especially on the GDP's. I'm not sure where to begin and end that process though. I've seen a ton of videos on the subject but my plants don't exactly have any height right now and that's usually what I see in trim vids. My plants are more like flat bushy spiders 🕷️

Hell you read everything from dont touch em to take em all off when it comes to leaves. I keep mine kinda thinned out a little each day

That's kind of what I've been doing. Today was a little scary though because I removed two HUGE fan leaves from the "top" of one plant. But since the start of LST those two leaves have essentially been in the dark.

Ya, I read all the different methods too. Personally, I chose to leave them alone for the most part, with the exception that I removed all leaves and some smaller branches that were never going to make it to the canopy from the lower 1/3 of the plants. I believe this accomplishes better lower canopy air movement and gets rid of leaves that are not doing much benefit to the plant because of lack of light. Removing the unproductive branches also, I believe, directs that energy into the productive branches.

Other than that, I have taken very few leaves from the upper canopy. The few that I did remove were done to better expose lower flowers to the light where I could not effectively tuck them under. I have done a lot of tucking leaves under.

I used recharge towards the middle end of flower in my last few cycles. I was pretty happy with it, but lack enough experience to know how much it helped. The real benefit seemed to be in my regular outdoor garden, saw huge differences after a few weeks after adding to my soil. I have a lot of my bag left, only need a little.

I had some extra from a test batch I used on Peggy so I added it to all of our house plants. It will be interesting to see if there's any changes.

I picked up some light reading related to my grow. I'll share if any nuggets of wisdom I come across, but even based on what I've read so far I can say that cooperation seems to be key.

Day 39:

The girls are getting big, or bigger at least. Peggy could still squeeze into a solo cup but wtf, I've decided to let her do her thing and tossed her in a 3 gal. Maybe she'll end up filling a bit of that hole I have in the center. Either way, I'm looking forward to smoking with Peggy on the porch one day.

Tent071

For anyone who might be curious, I believe the two large plants on the left and the one in the bottom right are the BBK's and the center, top-center, and top-right are the GDP's.

Tent072

I still feel like there's still room to fill in the tent, but pretty much everyone who's been though this part before me is warning me not to wait too long. Therefore I'm leaning towards making this the last week of veg, which would see me flipping on day 42 (this coming Tuesday). If I go that route I will give the plants a top dress of EWC per the CoM Stoneingtons feed chart.

Other housework from this morning:
- Up-Potted my runt to a 3gal
- Added another small oscillating fan to the tent for a total of 4 now
- Put my white air circulating fan on a box to bring it to canopy level
- Adjusted lights back up to 20"
- Cleaned up the lung room.

I have had to set pots on somethin to raise em up level with the rest, a milk crate cut to the right height works great

What size is your tent, I forget. 6 plants, even with the small one, looks to me like a lot to manage in that space and I would assume your veg time would be shorter because of that alone. Does your tent have access to three sides? Remember, you are going to have to get to the back of the tent to pick them up to check if they need water, to actually water them, and defoliate when necessary, etc. If you use a net trellis or two, that also will restrict access and make it harder to get to the back of the tent if you do not have other access points.

I have 4 plants in my 3' x 3' tent. The floor of the tent was really crowded since I have four 5 gal pots, a fan, and I used to have the dehuey in there and it was pretty crowded. I eventually figured out how to effectively get the dehuey out of the tent, which makes it a lot less crowded, but still there is not a lot of room. I have a hard time getting to the back plants to do anything, it's a real PITA, but I have figured it out for the most part. Even so, the back two plants did not get trimmed up as much as I would have liked, I can't reach back there to tuck leaves away from flower sites, etc.

With that said, I vegged mine for 8 weeks after sprout before I flipped and I think that time was just about right for what I had going. It's your grow and you should do what you feel is best. For whatever it's worth, if it were me, I would veg at least a week longer, maybe more depending how they do. You still have a lot of room in there where you still have a lot of space there to fill.

I couldn’t get near the back of my last grow and to be honest it was just fine in the end just more leaves

And here comes @SweetLeafGrow to help me second guess all my plans. Well the jokes on you pal, because I was already second guessing my plans! 😁

My tent is a 4x4x8. Access around the tent isn't much of a problem. I have good access to the front and sides. I have to squeeze a bit to get behind the tent but its very manageable and there's a big section that opens in the back if I ever really need to get to the grow from that side.

Maybe instead of making specific plans I should just wait and see what happens this week. 👍

I got the noooooby blues
From my head down to my shoes
My leaves are brown my roots are dry
And noooobody can tell me why
So I just hang my head and cry
I got the nooooooby blues
They look so good I hate to change
And yall suggest I rearrange
Don’t cut that let it grow
How the hell am I to know
I got the nooooooby blues

To add more second guessing, I'd say you have an 8' tall height. And they're only taking up like 25% of that at the moment... They aren't going to stretch 10x, you have tons of head space. Could let them get a bit/bunch taller before flip and get way more yield. Just my two cents. I let my last two get huge before flip, but then threw them outside because of the heatwave. I wish I could have seen them grow out in the room they had been in, would have been able to do a fair comparison... alas.

I've harvested only twice, but I know my first plant flipped pretty big and got just under 4oz. My second 2 cuttings combined were a little smaller at flip and together I got just over 4oz. My light (2xSF1K) seemed to be the limiting factor. You have a good light and total room coverage, unlike my sparse setup.

Then again, you got a lot more plants in there than I had. I did 2x in a 4x4 but only lit half the room. Looked at your top down photo again, it's going to fill in real quick now. If your anything like me, you'll def feel it in your gut what to do. So when that gut starts talking and you feel that claustrophobia panic kick in, pull the trigger.

when you switch to 12/12 and it’s more of a blue light than stretch won’t be much as compared with more of a red light for the first couple weeks..

I'm sorry, GNick55, but I don't speak your crazy moon language. 😉

Does the spectrum change along with light intensity? Otherwise I just have the one light. Sorry I'm a little dim when it comes to the light science.
