Day 50. Bicentannual!
I made an observation. I didn't like how long it took for the first go of water to soak into the top. It's always been slow since I top dressed it weeks back. So I poked a bunch of holes in the top layer of soil. About an inch deep. Just a slit made with the name tag signs we have for them..
The water soaked in much quicker. Success I say. But I've been getting just less than a quart of run off for the gallon I gave each of them. When I poked the holes, no run off. I use Poland Springs water. I didn't have anymore so I left it alone for that time.
Today, I poked the same holes and gave them almost 1.75 gallons. A quart came out. So now they take 1.5 gallons.
Have I been under watering them? They don't seem upset.
Has my "run off" actually just been side seep and nothing has been getting to the center?
Whats that do to a root system?
I ph'd last feed to 6.5 for the first time ever too. No run off so I couldn't check it. I ph'd this time too to 5.9 (I did it with out constant checking. Squirt some and check it once) runoff was within 6 to 6.3 for all of them.
Here's the ladies.
