Super Bushy and Eats Like a Pig

After conquoring all types of mites and crittets, I started a bunch of plants from seed, but due to difficulties in geting decent seeds, they got mixed up and are unknown lineages. One in particular is unlike any plant that I've grown, and is so bushy that it has proved difficult to train. The...

In earlier years, I was a very accomplished psychonaut. A dozen hits of strong acid was wild, but paled in comparison to a 13 dry gram Cyan dose. Nearly 40 years later and I still haven't touched them again. I couldn't really describe it as a trip, as it was more hallucinatory than a vivid...

The cakes are solid white and rubbery, as you mentioned. The local water is great for just about everything and has a good but not high mineral content and very little chlorine. I might inject about 10 cc's or so of water into one or two cakes and see if it makes any difference. I'm torn between...

As my jar cakes seem a little drier than I thought they should be after my flush finished, I soaked them for about 18 hours but they didn't seem to have absorbed any moisture that I could tell. The mycelium still is white but it isn't as "glisten-y" as it was prior. Would injecting the cakes...

The problem might be with the temps. Originally I had moved them to a slightly higher temp area (from around 70f) when I saw the first pins. My lid doesn't fit tightly and I think it is allowing enough air to circulate. My humidity levels are high with condensation. After the last fruiting, I...

    First Harvest. No sweet smell?

Rehydrating can restore some of the taste, but once the flavor is diminished, it is gone for good. I would recommend using just the orange peels or apple peels to raise your humidity since they contain a lot less moisture and won't cause the mold/mildew that more juicy products can introduce.

OK, I had a fruiting from the jarred cakes and then things seem to have stopped after a very short flush. I still have high humidity and the mycelium seems good and healthy... you can smell the fresh mushroom smell when you pop the lid on the Perlite substrate. I get condensation on the tub's...

    Coco seedling watering mishap question

Plants are very sensitive to high nutrient levels, especially when just starting off. 300 sounds pretty reasonable but I don't add any nutrients for the first few weeks as it seems to help the roots spread out faster and avoids injuring delicate seedlings. I prefer to start my plants in their...

My fruiting started but seemed to stall shortly after seeing pins and 1 or 2 larger caps. I moved it on top of a heat source and was quite surprised when I popped the top off the container. The few small pins have suddenly sprung to life and I have a couple suprisingly big shrooms. I was pretty...

Got a question on making the jars up. I saw the process making the medium and topping it with vermiculite before steaming for a while. Would it be feasible to sterilize them in an oven instead of a pressure cooker type of thing? I know that you would need to be careful with the moisture level...

I GOT FRUIT!! I didn't bother things on Christmas day and decided to check on things this cold morning. I opened my tub and lo and behold, I found a couple of caps starting on a few corners. I didn't really see the pins that I was expecting, but the cakes retained their color and didn't appear...

I think its a ph issue?

They look a little overfed to me... maybe a little thirsty. How much are you feeding them? They are pretty small and shouldn't need much feding yet. Nutrient issues and Ph go hand in hand, so I would figure out where my Ph is at currently, then come up with a plan of action based on my Ph readings.

I'm a proud Papa! I birthed 5 jars yesterday as the 6th jar never reallygot going and appears to be contaminated, so the 5 remaining were birthed into a yub of water for a day then off to their fresh perlite bed, sitting on a piece of aluminum foil to keep the cakes and perlite separate. I was a...

I'm going to become a new proud papa and birth my first ever jars, maybe tonight. Birthing, Fruiting... a lot different than popping a pill into the dirt and waiting 6 months!

Hey guys plant having a little issue not shure what

It looks pretty good to me. I wouldn't stress too much about it as the plant is still very small and they are easily bruised. The plant looks healthy and not droopy or puffy. Keep up whatever you are doing but don't feel obligated to feed it like you are going to a buffet! The soil you used has...

I was at the beach on the east coast around the 4th of July holiday. This was a few years post 911 andthere were talks of attacks on the east coast. I was between New York City and Wash DC... not a good place to be if they start dropping weird stuff. Anyhow, about midnight I go out and look up...

Yellow leaves buds stopped growing only the size of a dime.

I don't think they will grow much bigger, although I don't have much experience with Autos. Some of the leaf die off might be normal, as a lot of strains get yellowing fan leaves late in flowering. How long have they been flowering? Fixing the problem can't do anything but good, so I'd at least...

Yellow leaves buds stopped growing only the size of a dime.

Autos typically don't need as much nutrients as a regular plant, but with all of the stuff that you are pouring in, overfeeding would be my diagnosis. I've noticed that plants change their needs when they start to flower and they are more easily burned or damaged by high levels of nutes, although...

I checked the bottom of my jars today and they were totally colonized, with the bottom being the final area being colonized. Like @Dirtbag, I'm wondering how long I should, or shouldn't, keep these in the jar before putting in the bin/perlite. If I can pull this thing off, I look forward to...

    PipeCarver's Nova Scotian grow den

Good to see you back in the saddle. I haven't done much since the summer and I found that the last bunch of purchased seeds were not viable. Suddenly a mad scramble ensues to find something to replace them. I swore I wasn't going to use clones again after my supplier gave me a free set of spider...
