Yeah its actually a micronutrient... most tap water is around 1ppm... at 3-4ppm you will not mistake it... you will strongly smell it... just like a swimming pool. Unless brewing teas with microbes you don't need to worry about it.

Ok much and how often are you watering? Do you have any sort of water softener or treatment? 1000ppm is to high imo... this idea that giving a plant more nutrients makes it grow faster is just not true. Ppm and ph of runoff? Ph and alkalinity are very different... it the alkalinity thats...

Do you have whole plant pics? I can't answer without a lot more detail. All environmental factors, feeding practices (ppm,ph,etc, temps, humidity)

I think on the idicas pruning as you go is just kinda needed and if done here and there doesn't affect the plant at all stress wise. Biggest oldest leaves showing less photosynthesis (any signs of not being 100%), any leaves that are stacking or sitting on others, any leafs I can't just push out...
