What are some of the opinions on selective pruning. I believe if fan are in the way they can go but not trimming a lot off, or is it better to trim of everything but what is needed and if so why and when?

So if ur not adding in nutz via feeding ur plant when watering what is the purpose of flushing ur soil and how often do u? I'm just over 3 months and have never flushed my plant. This is the 3rd and final transplant that I've done. Would just like what others have done and what has worked for them.

I had to pick up some store brand water. I didn't ph it after the first watering a day or so later this started white spots on some of the fans. The water I was using was keeping everything at 6.5 this new water testing the soil is at 5. I ph the water to 7 but hasn't dried out to water it yet...
