Think what ya want. I clearly can’t figure this out. I appreciate the help but I’m done. This is fucking ridiculous. Not having fun.
sorry for wasting your time aqua man.
This will be my last post. Take care everyone.
Me too. This isn’t fun anymore. It’s causing more stress than it’s worth.
Gonna take the 3 plants out today and chuck them out. I’ll keep the one that’s alive going for a bit but it’ll probably get tossed too.
So it seems that the ph up I have is more focused on the ph and alkalinity though and not so much the benefits of the silica, which seem to be significant. not that I’m experiencing a silica deficiency. But the proper silica definitely wouldn’t hurt it seems.
can I not use something else to...
Can you explain this more? Seems like the potassium silica I have is more focused on the ph properties and not getting as much silica as possible into the plants.
I’d rather have a silica that the plant can use a lot easier versus something that the plant “struggles” to uptake but focuses...
Yeah I wouldn’t either. Who would and why would you want to? ph up seems useless and hardly not needed anywhere. Like ever.
So not sure why my potassium silica bottle includes ph up properties. That’s two strikes against it.
When I accidentally add too much ph down I’ll also add a little...
What do you mean stabilize?
3 days, 2 days. Seems like a long time and damn near the same thing really.
I don’t like how my silica is a ph up. Wtf. Why would I want to go from 8 to 10 just to bring it down to 6. Seems like I’d save on the ph down if I wasn’t using a ph up.
why go 2...
Seems like there’s a few options in Canada. Seems like good stuff. Hard to find it right though. Kinda expensive too. But seems legit. I read nothing but amazing things about it. Hmmm
Edit. That cyco stuff is potassium derived. Hence the price. The proper silica stuff seems expensive af and...
That aptus facilitator is $250 for 250ml or $1000 a liter?!
seems like it stops stretching and makes them shorter and thicker.
power.si and osa28 seems to be good alternatives.
Also seems that people foliar spray with these silica products?
Power si is “the original, patented formula of...
A quick google search seems that you’re totally right. Very interesting
“Take potassium silicatesas an example. Its molecules are too large to penetrate our plants cell walls. Microbes will have to convert it into silicic acid before the roots can take up the silicon. ... Silicic acid is...
Yeah that standard hydroponic ph down is junk. I’m loving that heavy stuff haha. It works awesome!
I will definitely let the silica mix longer.
interesting info on the cal mag. I actually upped my dose recently. My chart says 5ml per gallon but the bottle says 10ml so I use around 7ml per...
Props to you for reading all my ramblings and dumb questions haha.
my water is 8.0 right from the tap.
when I add my silica it brings the ph to 10!!!
I then add 1ml/gal of a potent ph down and it gets me to 6.2 or so.
then I add the cal mag.
good question on the ph though. I also don’t...
So it’s just half ways between soil and hydro?
All the hydroton does is provide a mechanical means to support the roots. Same with soil really. Just finer. It can also hold a bit of water too. I’d imagine you can grow in pure perlite too? Or marbles? Or golf balls on a large scale...
It’s funny because a guy that I talk to before coming here is doing the same. Hardcore hydro guy using mega crop that’s also going to coco next round. So you guys are onto something.
That’s what I’ve been doing.
Grow 1 in the 3x3 was about $1500 but brought back around $600 bucks
grow 2 got another $1000 or so and brought back $1000 bucks in my 4x4.
grow 3 now I’m in to it about $800-1000 more with this hydro stuff and big bottles of GH and hoping to bring in $1500 or so...
Yeah I’m gonna have to flip early.
I’d love to get into an 8x8 room
But then I’d need 3 more lights. And everything else. And that’s another $2-4000 for everything. First world problems eh
until then. I’ll just keep dreaming and living vicariously through you guys haha.
