    Post your (heavily) defoliated ladies?

God I wish I had that much space to grow lol 😂

    Post your (heavily) defoliated ladies?

If you've got your plants producing LSD, I'd say keep whatever you're doing up 😂 Really just leaning on several rules of thumb I've found and some moderate googling on "schwazzing". I suspect there's way more to it than I've read given the source, but my approach in a nutshell: 1. Have a...

    Post your (heavily) defoliated ladies?

No experience growing outdoors, but from what I've read defoliation is far less important because the light is just as strong as the top of the plant as at the bottom. Anything more would be complete speculation, sorry!

    Post your (heavily) defoliated ladies?

Update: one week later (bloom day 27) And two weeks later (bloom day 34) Happy as green clams. Lower bud sites are coming in thicker compared to last couple grows.

    Post your (heavily) defoliated ladies?

Curious how much other folks defoliate their plants. Feel like I always had a thick canopy choking out lower bud sites in the past, trying out schwazzing this round and so far the process feels pretty good. Enough to feel like I've converted from a "plants need every solar panel and nutrient...

Super soil vs. traditional nutes in neutral soil?

Getting ready for my third grow, wanting to improve my nute game and considering super soils. Can anyone share their experiences going this route? I love the idea of just using PH'd water instead of adding liquid nutes each time I water, but I'd be willing to put up with it if liquid nutes...

I grew a weeds! (+Advice on soil nutes?)

Three whole marijuanas. Specifically, 3 plants in a tiny space (1.5'x3'), one of them stunted due to a late topping. 5.6oz dried/trimmed yield. Second grow, first from seed. For next round, planning on two taller plants in 5-gal pots instead of three cramped plants in 3-gal pots, better...

In veg and leaves are very miscolored. Is this light stress or something else.

Looks like magnesium deficiency? Not familiar with the soil, if you're sure it has everything you need then check your PH. Too low can lock out magnesium. Also consider pot size, she looks big for a 1 gallon pot. You might see some stress and nutrient uptake issues if the roots are bound...

How to make these seedlings happier?

Can drop to the low 60's without it at night, even with an inverted light schedule (I keep my lights on at night and off during the hottest parts of the day). What temperatures should I aim for with seedlings? I've seen everything from 60-70 to 70-80.

How to make these seedlings happier?

Pair of (full spectrum LED) SF-1000's, 23" up at 40% intensity. Measurements work out to ~377 ppfd / 24.5 DLI on an 18/6 schedule. 14-15k lux for anyone keeping score. Under the domes, that drops to ~250 ppfd / 18.5 DLI, or 11k lux. Didn't use enough light last time, figured I'd push these a...

How to make these seedlings happier?

Based on what? Bigger seedling is working on its fourth set of leaves, will probably transplant end of week; way too early for the other two, they're still working through their second set of leaves. My understanding is FFOF is ideal for seedlings as-is, no extra food required. When I do...

How to make these seedlings happier?

First time dealing with seedlings, would love any suggestions or feedback. The large seedling sprouted about 2 weeks ago, after some germination hiccups (may have dried out the taproot a bit while figuring out the paper towel method, planted anyway, seems to have bounced back). Other two...

LED light: lux vs ppfd, height vs intensity?

Trying to definitely understand how to best measure light, specifically in an LED context. Two questions: 1) I've seen equally strong preferences for measuring light in lux, using free apps, or in ppfd, using math I don't understand. Is lux approximate while ppfd is much more accurate, or do...

Am I doing paper towel method wrong

I had problems with plates on a heating pad, it was too hot and caused all the water in the bottom paper towel to evaporate and condense on the top plate. Stuck a small cardboard box underneath the plates to add some distance from the pad, problem solved.

2 spoted spider mites vs sulfur burner

I've had luck with an RTU neem oil, sprayed the hell out of the plant on both sides of the leaves every 2-3 days, cleared up after a couple weeks. Never seen a sulfur burner before, very curious. Keep us posted!

My whole room seems to be affected by mute burn? Please help

Mute burn... the silent killer 😂 Agree that a few burnt leaf tips are nothing to worry about, and those leaves look a little crispy. A bit of yellowing is normal in late bloom, especially after flushing. Nothing to worry about unless your sugar leaves are turning yellow and brown.

Are any of the girls ready for harvest. Each pic represents a different plant.

What are the genetics, and are they photoperiod or auto? You can look up the flowering time based on genetics (usually 8-10 weeks), should try to flush 1-2 weeks before harvest. Two factors determine when to harvest: new pistil growth should slow to a stop, so most (80-90%) should be red and...

Did I defol too late into bloom?

Yep, more light and fewer colas is the idea. Space is tiny, 18" x 32" with plenty of height. Would love a dedicated room with a 4x4 tent, but hey, that's San Francisco for you.

Did I defol too late into bloom?

Hi all, wanted to circle back on this now that harvest has come and gone. After posting, I cranked up the lights to 100% and dropped to 12", and the ladies loved it. No stress or damage to speak of. Flushed early in week 8, ready for harvest end of week 9, right on schedule. Chopped them down...
