Not sure if this is the culprit or not, but 24" may be too close for your lights during veg. I usually place my lights around 4 feet away during veg and allow my plants room to grow upward.

Just jumping in here... 100% agree with everything GNick55 has said, but to add... important to pH your feed/water too. Plants take in the nutrients they want only at specific pHs, and I aim for 6.0-6.5. And don't overfeed or overwater, especially while it is young. There are a lot of variables...

I've had the same question for the longest time, and I have voices in my ear telling me I need to cut more off... a lot more off. My earliest research told me to (mostly) leave the plants alone once flowering begins, so I've only been cutting off fan leaves that have been blocking other buds...
