Bestva Pro series, thoughts on these?

I just ordered a Kingbrite on Alibaba, I've seen a few posts here saying they're good. Time will tell.

Standalone IR & UV lights, recommendations?

Thanks for the tip; I only bought this one because it's possible to turn the UV & IR off with separate switches. I was reading though that even CFLs emit some small amount of UV. It got me wondering if it was contributing to my grow in some way. For the last few years I've been using 65W CFL...

Standalone IR & UV lights, recommendations?

Thanks all. Ended up going for the Kingbrite with the IR & UV included. I had been going to purchase the 3000k alone & figured it might be worth supplementing with UV in flower, but went for the next model up. Figured it was worth the extra money - not for the UV but for the fact it's IP65.

Standalone IR & UV lights, recommendations?

I'm looking for some separate UV & IR lamps to introduce during flowering. I'm getting a Kingbrite but they don't seem to do them as separate units. Good brands to go for? I know with fluorescent/CFL the UV output diminishes quite quickly; not sure if LED suffers from this problem.

Bestva Pro series, thoughts on these?

Thanks, that kind of confirms some of my suspicions. It seemed a bit good to be true. Note I only said the parts are quality; I've got no idea what the build is like. I know when I got my blurple light a few years ago it was very common for sellers to lie about their output. I got a partial...

Brown spots on lower leaves of young plant vegging in soil/coco/perlite

Thanks, don't know at this point. I've got a cheap tester somewhere, but as I usually mix up a super soil & go for it I don't bother much with pH unless something starts to look off.

Bestva Pro series, thoughts on these?

Thanks for that tip re knockoffs! Leaning towards a Kingbrite then. Bestva use quality parts or so it seems - I just don't like the reports of their customer service. Too many people saying that they stop replying to emails or haven't honoured warranties. Their Facebook page is a bit of a mess...

I see Kingbrite gets recommended a lot too and they're within my budget. That leaves some decisions to make though...which colour temp? So many to choose from.

Brown spots on lower leaves of young plant vegging in soil/coco/perlite

Leaf of another plant, no brown spots but margins are yellowing. Potassium deficiency/lockout? It's lower leaves only so not calcium.

Brown spots on lower leaves of young plant vegging in soil/coco/perlite

It's the only plant that looks like this, although some of the other leaves have the light green margins like this one does, only more pronounced.

I looked at Mars Hydro & Spider Farmer too, but shipping costs to me are astronomical. Someone's selling TS3000 on DHgate for $240 USD, I gather this is a scam?

Bestva Pro series, thoughts on these?

My tents are only 900mm square, but my intention is to buy a bigger light than what I need and dial it down on a dimmer for better efficiency and greater led life. I'm sure these Chinese builds are pushed to their max. I was all ready to press buy on a Bestva pro 4000. Like that they use...

Mites on soil - friend or foe?

Thanks, I think you're right! It's hard to be certain because they move so fast, but I think they could be Hypoaspis miles. They look like they have a couple of antennae that they twitch a lot. Never had them before so they must have come in my soil. There's no way in hell I can capture these...

Mites on soil - friend or foe?

I have some dark caramel coloured mites on my soil grow. They run very fast and it's hard to identify them because of that. There's even a possibility they're baby spiders; I can't get them to hold still for a closer look. Thoughts? There's no leaf damage; plants are young but look healthy...

Early cotyledon yellowing - sign of poor root development?

Dog isn't my pic btw, it's Prancer, a rescue Chihuahua who hates men, children and animals and just got adopted by a single lesbian. I know he's just mad but I thought he looked like a massive stoner.

Early cotyledon yellowing - sign of poor root development?

Thanks, yeah I really wish I'd waited and ordered some quality seed raising mix. We don't have much available locally but it definitely looks like it was a mistake. Didn't know that re the bark/nitrogen, cheers. There should be plenty of N in that mix to compensate though. The pots are peat and...

Early cotyledon yellowing - sign of poor root development?

So pic 1 vs. pic 2 is a good example of what I mean. Same age, same strain. Seedling 1 has completely depleted its cotyledons. Seedling 2 has better growth, a thicker stem and green cotyledons. None have roots emerging on the bottom yet, but I'm guessing seedling 2 has superior root growth. My...

Early cotyledon yellowing - sign of poor root development?

My current batch of seedlings has had a hard time and I lost a couple to damping off. The survivors are hanging in there but a bit behind in growth. I've noticed that some of the cotyledons are completely yellow and ready to fall off despite not a lot of top growth. Others still have green...

    Help! Damping off question, humidity

Cheers...I think they're well-rooted at this point. I've heard that bottom watering is better if pythium and other fungi are a problem. How do you balance the need to keep it dry for prevention of fungi vs. humid enough for seedling survival?
