    Gelatin like substance around roots?

Yeah, that problem had come and gone, and had taken my 4 daughters with it. But now I understand the situation and have taken the proper precautions to not encounter this again. I do have 35% H2O2 as well as Hygrozyme, so if this problem does come around again, I'm formidably armed. Thanks for...

    Aeroponics question.

Well I was wondering if the idea was feasible. Elec is not a problem but the idea of keeping cost down is always welcome. I see your point though. Those fine root hairs constantly require oxygen. I'm going to search around for that equation too. Thanks for your chime.

    Aeroponics question.

Would anyone know: when using an air stone for aeration, must it be on 24 hours a day? Or is it safe for the roots if the pump were timed to come on in intervals, i.e. 3 or 4 times a day? To my understanding the key is the keep the water from becoming stagnant. I can see this working, but I...

    In deep water now

Nice, yes it does make sense. Now, what about when the root mass is enormous, do you keep it submerged at all or is it suspended over the water?

    In deep water now

Hey Ganjalover, great grow! I was wondering about the pic of day 42 in thread #28. When the root mass is that big, at what level do you keep your water underneath the roots? Also, I was wondering if you monitor your waters tds per feeding, and if you can share your ppm levels?

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

Tried that, did not work. Then tried it with diluted food grade peroxide, it had died off for about a day but then seemed to come back. I had some type of perpetual breeding ground of it, perhaps infested into one of my air stones. Lesson learned.

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

After reading, reading, and more reading about hydroponics, I never knew it was so demanding, and unforgiving if you make the slightest mistake. Oh well, another lesson learned, but still a fantastic way to grow!

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

:( I've lost my clones. The bacteria locked them out from obtaining any feed, tried to fight it cautiously with h202, perhaps I did something wrong. Still waiting on my mail for my hygrozyme. Bad timing based on the holidays. Right now they are drooping over with no sign of revitalization, I...

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

Unfortunately those are not immediately accessible to me, especially while I'm waiting on my mail. I've been reading around and I'm come across hydrogen peroxide as one way to treat this. Any opinions?

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

Completely sealed off my res, which I had thought was already done, but I overlooked the smallest of seams. Now, just awaiting hygrozyme in the mail. With the res change, and the light completely sealed, should the plants fight off this gelatin on their own or is the hygrozyme the only way?

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

The answer I was hoping for, for now. Good thing I caught this now, the plants do not seem to be reacting to it yet.. but better late than too late! Thank you for the fast info.

    Gelatin like substance around roots?

I realize there is light penetration reaching my res. Maybe leading to algae or this pythium? Ordering the hygrozyme bc it is inaccessible locally. Would you consider it being ok in the meanwhile with a water change and proper light sealing?

    Absurd prices for pot

Adding in the mechanics of a populated city, legality, and you come up with price gouging. In the interest of the seller, wherever you are, yes it will be the turn around that sets the standard $. Illegality increases risk, risk variates turn around greatly. Yet, in our interest as growers who...
