    Soil Mite Population

I have a lot of these crawling all over some coco in one of my planters. I haven't ever seen them before personally but they seem to look a lot like Hypoaspis miles predatory mites. They are about the size of springtails and move just as quickly. I don't know if I should be concerned. Such a...

    New To Colorado And Growing.

How long does a potato pipe last? Do you make a new one every day? You must be an accomplished pipe carver by now.

    New To Colorado And Growing.

I have no experience with that strain but it looks like it's bred to be easy to get huge yields from. As you're doing this for personal reasons, I would recommend choosing genetics based on what you like to smoke yourself. Commercial operations mainly have to consider flowering times and yield...

    If you have chemistry questions....

I find this idea interesting because I notice as oil waxes up during the purge it does seem to start somewhere - then build off that section, like a nucleation point.

    If you have chemistry questions....

Squig - a question for you regarding concentrates: When purging the solvent from an extraction, various consistency may be achieved (e.g. oil, sap, shatter, wax) depending on various factors (time, temperature, pressure, the hash itself). Sometimes when aiming for shatter I see certain extracts...

PEACHES, eggs I-70 comming from Glenwood to Denver, colo springs.....

Nice! Glad I'm not too late here. How soon do you need to take orders for this next round?

    If you have chemistry questions....

Not to nitpick, but with higher heat/transpiration (VPD) should come a reduced need for nutrient concentration (EC) to balance against how quickly water is moving into the roots. That said, I think you're right on as usual and I'm just nitpicking.

    Making BHO from contaminated bud?

True, but the "Dimensions of conidia" chart above does not show any isolates any smaller than 5.00

    Making BHO from contaminated bud?

Thanks. I ended up ordering some 1 micron paper for the büchner. Still not fine enough?

Any Reefheads want to session during MACNA next month?

That looks like a monster LED. Tried putting any flowers under it?

    Making BHO from contaminated bud?

Too late to edit my above post but I just found better - 1.45 µm filter paper

    Making BHO from contaminated bud?

I can find a <5µm paper filter that fits right in my büchner funnel. Skipping the syringe would be a good bit easier. Does this sound like an unwise decision? The material used for this extraction had a mild case of botrytis in the center of the larger buds.

    If you have chemistry questions....

Squiggly, I've always wondered about the effects of vacuum sealing on bud, but have not been able to notice any subjectively. Can you elaborate?

    If you have chemistry questions....

I think usually fire will link available carbon with oxygen to form (mostly) CO2 gas. But... if we're talking about smoking pesticides, here, it would be a lot more prudent to take it on a case-by-case basis. I bet at least some of them can handle some heat and may have a vapor phase. Remember...

Abamectin is a good one to test for. It's a mixture of: (10E,14E,16E)-(1R,4S,5′S,6S,6′R,8R,12S,13S,20R,21R,24S)-6′-[(S)-sec-butyl]-21,24-dihydroxy-5′,11,13,22-tetramethyl-2-oxo-(3,7,19-trioxatetracyclo[15.6.1.14,8.020,24]pentacosa-10,14,16,22-tetraene)-6-spiro-2′-(5′,6′-dihydro-2′H-pyran)-12-yl...

Unhappy buds right under the light

I like the idea. This room is so full of buds I can't really push down any branches without crowding out other ones right now though. Extensive netting is also holding everything in place. I've been going a bit crazy trying to maximize my use of light. I am a big fan of efficiency, but it does...

Unhappy buds right under the light

During lights on the air ranges from 75F to 80F, RH ~60%. I'd prefer to lower the vpd a little but during the winter I have to protect surrounding (much cooler) space from being exposed to such high water content. CO2 is at 1000ppm.

Unhappy buds right under the light

They're getting 1.75 EC in a hybrid DTW coir/DWC system (which itself is a new experiment, so there could certainly be issues here). Runoff is closer to 2.2 EC. Water temps are near 70F. It's a hungry strain, and in the phase of its life where it needs the most, so I was thinking it may be a...
