An challenges the Big Boys in the industry

One thing i keep thinking is, maybe other companies don't want to come out and officially admit they make their products for marijuana. Whereas AN has no qualms about openly advertising their products intended purpose.

    Dehumidifier

I've had the same "problem" with my stand alone hygro's reading differently than my dehumidifier. I just use more than one hygro, and sort of get an average. Use your hygro's as a baseline, as every environment will have different characteristics.

    House AC or Portable AC

Only use a portable AC when you absolutely have to. I think that pretty much sums it up.

    how many lights?

A magnetic ballast won't really pull anymore power, except on startup. So the amperage should be the same or very close, close enough to not be worth considering IMO.

Advanced Nutrients AN Custom Recipes, Product Line Changes, Nutrient Info, Experience

I used to get the entire AN line for free from my buddy who runs a local hydro shop when it first came around my area, years ago. Used AN for about 4 yrs, and i can definitely say they've changed their products over time. Actually i should just say that they've began "watering down" their...

problems about setting up my dehumidifier in my grow tent

Sounds like your best bet might be to just put the dehumidifier in the room that the tent is in. That'll help spread the heat out throw the room instead of just in the tent. You'd have to re-route your intake though.

    Bongs vs Vaporizers

I smoke bongs and nothing but. Vaporizers lack the full flavor of the herb, and why would you wanna mask all your hard work? And like someone else said, if it's a quality bong stuffed with quality herb, the only reason you should cough is because you took too big of a hit. I def think vaporizers...

    Hanging lights in a trailer

Hey tripod, i wouldn't worry too much about not being like Bob Villa with tools. You could even take your measurements, and go to Home Depot and have them cut it. They'll have signs up by their saws saying something like "we don't make precision cuts" but i mean they're using a several thousand...

    I HAVE 2000W HPS FOR 4x8 WILL + 1000W HPS DOUBLE HARVEST?

It should def increase yield, but you'd only be adding 50% more light, so you won't double your yield with that increase.

do you use mobile phones ?

Well, before cell phones, people were fine. If i have to get stranded on the highway every great now and then, at least i'm not being tracked by someone i've never seen. The problem is, people think they NEED them to survive. Humans were fine before them, and will be fine without them. I know i...

When to replace a magnetic ballast?

What JK said. I've never personally heard of a transformer going out. When in doubt, an igniter and/or capacitor don't cost very much to buy, and are simple to replace. If the cap is going bad, they'll start to bulge. When the igniter starts to fail, usually your bulb won't fire all the way...

    Downsizing

Hey JJ, looking good buddy. ;) One thing i wanted to ask ya though...if you have 2 gal buckets that you'll be putting inside of 5 gal buckets, why are you using lids?

    Hard water.

The water is around me is pretty hard, usually around 450ppm out of the tap, but i've seen it as high as 600ppm. So i bought an RO filter. Then i had some weird water issue, so i bought a UV sterilizer. Lol....does it ever end?! Fast forward to today.... I'm rocking a 300 gpd (gallon per day)...

    Electrical Guidelines for Safe Growing

Most breakers have the amperage rating on the front of the switch. The toggle switch that you turn the breaker on and off with, should have a number on the front of it. That's your amperage.

    Electrical Guidelines for Safe Growing

Hey Farmers, decided to put together a lil Electrical Faq as requested by Logic. With all the possible scenarios, there's no way i could cleanly make up a thread that covered all angles in one post, so it'll be a continual, work-in-progress kinda thing. The first thing i'd like to talk about...
