Also, just wanted to give a shout-out to rollinEndough for the spot-on assessment of my issue with my girls. Looks like they're gonna end up doin ok. I'm working at a lower EC on the other side of my room from the get-go this time and growth is straight-up explosive. I'm a believer in the...

MIni spit! vs window box AC.. when you have many window box ac's..

Window AC does not pump room air outside. The part that hangs outside the room blows outside air over the condenser coil to expel heat while the part inside the room blows room air over the cold evaporator coil. Completely seperated except in the case of larger ones that have a "fresh air"...

    EZ-Clone chiller loop upgrade

Here's the stainless version. Made it from about 9' of 3/8" stainless (316). It's almost twice the length of the original copper unit and cools 3 degrees lower, all other things equal. The stainless tubing runs just over $2.00 a foot from fab shops. It's pretty easy to bend yourself. Just...

"testing the waters"... of a water cooling setup. Some questions...

What up, farmers. I'm finally ready to start migrating to a chiller-only setup with ice boxes, a water cooler CO2 genny, etc.. but I would like to start small with some existing equipment if possible prior to dropping coin for a big-boy chiller and big-boy pump. Looking for some advise from the...

    EZ-Clone chiller loop upgrade

Thanks for the tip, UCMENOW. I just picked up some 3/8" tubing in 316L stainless here locally and will be swapping out the copper tonight. It's still cooling like a champ tho. In this kind of setup, does the size of the submerged coil really matter all that much (by size, I mean length of the...

    EZ-Clone chiller loop upgrade

If you have a chilled UC system running, you can add a chilled look to you EZ clone for next to nothing. I made this one from copper just because it was readily available, but I'm going to replace it with stainless in a week or so. Here's what was needed: 1 - 5' coil of 3/8" soft copper...

What kind of filter on your chiller?

If you are going to run a filter on the system, use that one. It's not too bad to clean, you just have to do it often. Put shut-off valves on either side of it so you can pull the filter with water still in the system.

What kind of filter on your chiller?

The filters have a tube inside made of really fine mesh. They can become clogged easily and slow down the water flow. You have to clean them pretty often. I ran my chiller for a long time with no filter. It's not going to hurt the chiller or anything. It's present on the UC mostly to stop roots...

Struggling with UC Pre-veg, help appreciated

looks nice. also looks like that was a super pain in the ass to drill your basket holes, lol! Your mods make that top fit like it was an actual lid but it looks like you may not be able to fill the water level high enough to flood the bottom of the baskets without being higher that the point...

Need Help With This Lighting Controller Flipbox

The load on the relays at the time they are opening or closing is zero. The ballasts are off when the relay is triggered to open or close. How could 10A be deficient for this purpose? The conductors in the ballast cord are 16ga.... and they aren't energized at the time. To the OP, these...

    Badass bulbs

"badass". LOL! I bought two of their "badass blades" figure 8 wall fans. What a joke. Both stopped moving left to right after two runs. I took them back to the shop where I got them and they said every one of the units they sold had been returned. I know people like AN but my personal...

CO2 into a neg pressure bloom room.. help!!

Got a slight dilemma here and am looking for some advice from the pros. I'm trying to add CO2 injection to a bloom room that is already setup and running. The room was setup to run under negative pressure and changing it to a sealed room, although technically an option, it not what I want to do...
