Well I just got this ballast for cheap. And the bulb is a pretty darn old bulb. And I only mentioned the 1000 watt because my friend has one he will give me. Its like a high frequency sound. Like a tv turning on but higher. Maybe only I can read it.

I have a quantum 600 watt switchable digital ballast at 50% running a victor or Ge 400 watt metal halide bulb in a sun system yield master 2 hood. The bulb has this high pitch whistle to it. Is this normal ?

Update! Just got a 600 watt digital quantum ballast and a sun yield 2 hood! Installing this bad boy and will upload videos and pics of the new set up PLUS images and video of what's happening since I fim the plants.
