Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Thanks Oscar! If I had the 2" I would have definitely gone with that, but the 1.5" seems to work pretty well also. Question for you - do you know the brand of hose fittings you're using to connect the 3/4" tubing from the pump to the inlet? All the ones I've seen are really meant for 5/8"...

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Well I got her up and running! The 1.5" pipe actually seems to have worked out pretty well in the end. I took a few liberties on Oscar's design, but all in all it's pretty much the same setup. This morning I dumped 3.5 cups of EWC, 1/2 Alfalfa meal, 4 oz of liquid sea kelp and 2 oz of...

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

I guess you can say I've bought in to the hype a bit on the vortex thing, so I may not be the most objective dude on the topic...but I agree that quality ingredients and lots of aeration seem to be the ultimate recipe for success.

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Okie dokie! I've one set of fittings to return to Lowes. :) If anyone needs a 2" double slip bulkhead adapter, let me know and I'll send it to you for a couple bucks to cover shipping. Thanks Oscar, I'll keep posted on how it all works out. Pumped to get it pumping! :)

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Hi all - this is an older thread, but still great info! Much appreciation to Oscar for bringing this simple and superior vortex build to life. I've just picked up one of these 15 gallon tanks, but mine has the 1.5" drain on it (not the 2"). It's too much hassle to return so I'm hoping this...

New 10x10 Veg and Flower Combo

Ah yes, great suggestion fishwhistle. I've perused his thread a couple of times now. Tons of good into. I'll hit him up to see what he thinks. Indeed, I do have a tendency to over design/build many of projects. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes just creates more work with little benefit...

New 10x10 Veg and Flower Combo

Answered my own question by doing a quick search on it. Wow, that's bad! There is tons of stuff Arduino controls. I guess that's what happens when ideas happen faster than searches. Still I'd like to hear your thoughts on the AC/ventilation strategy to see if this idea is even worth the...

New 10x10 Veg and Flower Combo

Ok, so I think one of my main questions I'm trying to answer is around ventilation and A/C. I really want to build this room correctly the first time with the hopes of having a long-term, easy to maintain setup. For this I think it'll be good to include as much automation as possible. As such...

New 10x10 Veg and Flower Combo

FlyinJ - thanks, good info. I agree I would like to ditch the AC in the veg room. I already run the lights at night and think it's a good policy for energy efficiency. Worst case scenario is I find that the veg room won't cool off and I need to add another unit later. Interesting...

New 10x10 Veg and Flower Combo

Hi all – first time poster here. I appreciate everyone’s commitment to making this the “go to” board for information sharing on our beloved practice. I’ve learned a ton through countless hours spent scouring this and other message boards to come up with a room design that will hopefully...
