Is it safe to grow cannabis using compost from a local farm?

1 yes FAQ's and hundreds of organic grow threads 2 More than likely 3 yes compost should be 1/3 of your mix usually 4 yes make sure it is fully composted, not hot, fresh or new 5 Not as long as they have a healthy root zone (food water air etc) 6 You don't... composting takes care of most...

Putting fly strips on my plants

What kinda bugs you targeting Gordrock? I mean, besides the other members...lol... Thrips are tough, mites bad, fungus gnats an annoyance IMO.

Putting fly strips on my plants

AFAIK Blue strips for Thrips is apparently nothing to do with the Thrips, but they are less attractive to beneficial bugs. EVERYONE ,lol, who grows in organic soil indoors, uses glue strips of some kind, it's only a part of a good comprehensive IPM program (that the experts here can teach ya)...

HALP! CMH lights- what is going on?

Long thread, see that light was a bit bright for area. Decreasing reflection works for you, but, growers struggle to get light below the canopy, and thus our precious light is reflected and bounced around by whatever we can paint or line our walls with. You are having difficulty dealing with...

    L.E.D. Argument Thread For Dummies:)

Meanwell drivers are supposed to be the best right now. I still have to prepay shipping to Asia for warranty with Meanwell (or my local dealer??? lol). Household bulbs are the main culprit for failure, less than half of the 60w equivalent leds have outlasted any of my cfl's in the same fixture...

just install on a hemi-sphere and run different intensity, its quite simple with chips and such, no? vertical growing in a tent with a 30 buck light, thats what I will get excited about. I guess my main problem is that I run in an unheated basement area. Well insulated and ventilated, suits...

    L.E.D. Argument Thread For Dummies:)

Well yes my big argument is yes longevity claims, see if all is good in 2 years with the HLG, I imagine it will, as it is a to end unit , probably THE best units available. It is going to be satisfying to see how the LED growlight industry will upended by simple screw-in replacement 120W led...

    L.E.D. Argument Thread For Dummies:)

yep oops 40 bucks a year more, well at least the fixture will outlast my bulbs which are...hmm...replaceable. The LED light longevity claims are FALSE, unsubstantiated, and pertain only to the emitter. 50,000 hrs 100,000 hrs life expectancy is abject nonsense. I'm not saying led can't grow...

Dummy math 10 cents a kilowatt hour here 1000w at 12 hours is 1.20 per night......my 600w hid then consumes 72 cents a night. The 320W led fusion board costs 40 cents a night. My 600w setup cost 165 bucks complete with 2 bulbs The fusion just cost 480 bucks and I had to spend some time...

helmet is sounding better every time I picture that. Funny going to town this evening, following an ambulance with a fucked up led signal light/tail array (850 bucks for the module) brand new...and one of those oh=so beautiful led boards above the pumps at the gas station, this must be 1000W...

Good points from all of ya. @MIMedGrower My style is similar to yours, perpetual grow, different strains. So Timber cob hlg strip or cheap ass qboard. As a couple of you have mentioned, the construction of the strips can lead to real world issues with cranial contusions... I am clumsy...

    L.E.D. Argument Thread For Dummies:)

As an LED dummy, the led camp is divided into 3 groups, cob's, panels, and strips? Both qb (panels) and the strip style (most diy examples) look like kids litebrite toys. Like ya took an old cookie pan and glued a bunch of bedazzle beads on it. Cobs seem to have a little more robust...
