How Often Do You Add Uc Roots?

I have an ORP meter and have tracked UC Roots over several grows. I have found that adding 3 ml per gallon on system changes, then an additional 3 ml per gallon every 7 days keeps the ORP in the desired range. I've been doing this over my last 5-6 grows and have had no root issues. Upon...

Understanding Ppm's In The Uc System

I like to see the ppms drop daily, indicating that the plants are feeding, while expecting a slight rise in pH. If the ppm is rising I know my solution is too strong. I run my top off rez at the same ppm but a slightly higher pH, usually right around 6. I seldom have to adjust either my ppm...

Understanding Ppm's In The Uc System

That's probably a bit excessive. I have an ORP meter and have monitored the ORP levels daily for several months while using UC Roots. I add 3 ml per gallon when changing the system and then replenishing weekly at 3 ml per gallon. I have found that this is enough too keep the ORP at the level...

Understanding Ppm's In The Uc System

This forum was very helpful for me when I first started. Search for posts by desertsquirrel. Several used to be stickied but aren't anymore. He has posted several guides which I found extremely helpful.

Using Sulfur To Kill Powdery Mildew - Warning!

A while back I had issues in my grow room with powdery mildew. After the grow was over I decided to kill off any remaining mold spores by burning sulfur, which is the most effective way I know to kill the spores. Everything went well and I proceeded with my next grow. A few weeks later, one...

Rockwool Cube At Bottom Of Net Pot? Mine Is 2 1/2" Above Net Pot

I had the same issue. It seemed my clones were taking forever to kick in and they were suffering for it. Yes, I wait until the roots are nice and long, which is usually about 20-22 days after starting the clones. I start them with 2ml per gallon of DynaBloom and once the roots are...

For Uc Nutes, Do I Add System Gallons + Rez Gallons To Get Xml/gal?

CC recommends running your top off at the same pH and ppm as your system. So if you're running a 20 gallon top off, just use 1/5th of what you used for your 100 gallon system and you should be golden. If you add 120 ml of both A & B to your top off you are likely to see your system ppm go sky...

Day 5: "taco" Leaves And Half-chopped Leaves

Usually the leaves are cut like that when they are clones. The idea is that reducing the amount of leaf reduces photosynthis and promotes root growth. I do this with my clones and I like that it also provides a clear distinction between old and new growth, allowing me to quickly see my clones...

Rockwool Cube At Bottom Of Net Pot? Mine Is 2 1/2" Above Net Pot

I've tried using those 1/2" rock wood cubes in place of hydroton with descent results. I did keep my water level about 1/2" below the net pots and for the first few days, poured solution over the cubes to keep them moist. I like that I could just dispose of them after the grow instead of...

Rockwool Cube At Bottom Of Net Pot? Mine Is 2 1/2" Above Net Pot

I like the raised centers on the UC net pots. I usually work from clones which I leave in the cloner until the roots are at least 12" long, or about 3 weeks. I lay the roots along the bottom of the pot and set the stem on top of the raised center and fill the pot with hydrocorn. I set my...

Understanding Ppm's In The Uc System

I've been growing in UC for about 4 years now, the last 2 using CC nutes. What I've found that if you try and follow their feeding schedule exactly you will run into issues. I generally run at about half their recommended strength. When I move my clones to veg I start out using only cal/mag...

    Best Strain For The Uc?

My last harvest was some Barney's Red Diesel, which grew exceptionally well in RDWC. Nice big, tight buds with a nice balanced sativa high. Others strains that have done well for me have been Blue Dream, OG Kush, Deep Cheese (highest yield so far), Lemon Diesel and Cream Mandarine.

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

I keep the water level about 1/2" below the bottom of the pots. Roots and stems are disease free.

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

I had just changed the system 2 days before. I had added a bit too much nutrients and the ppm was a little high, which was the reason I was adding the RO, to drop the ppm back down a bit. I generally change the system every 18 - 21 days although I've actually gone as long as 33 days just to...

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

Since I had removed 7 gallon of solution I added the RO back all at once. My RO runs right around pH 6.35, so I assumed if anything it might slightly raise the pH. But that's something to think about and next time I run into a similar situation maybe give your idea a try. Thanks.

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

I hear you. I just assumed since this is in the UC forum that everyone would get that. I've not seen this happen to anyone before. I usually wait a day to allow for good circulation before taking a reading. The next morning it had dropped to about 4.9, I added some pH up and the day after...

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

I do a thorough cleaning and flush with bleach between every grow so I doubt that is a contributing factor. But thanks anyway. I understand that. This isn't related as it was a drastic drop, practically overnight. The reason I was adding the RO was because the nute ppm was a bit too high.

    Ph Crashes After Adding Ro

I've had this happen to me twice now and it's got me stumped. My system ppm was a little high so I removed 7 gallons of solution and added straight RO to dilute it. Before I removed the solution the pH was right around 5.8. The day after it had dropped to 4.9 so I added a bit of pH up...

Hi My Name Is Event... Im New !

I use it as general guide. I find their ppm numbers are way high compared to what I run. In the 3 runs I've done with the CS nutes I've only gotten above 300 ppm (500 scale) with some Blue Dream, and that was only about 340 at peak feeding. I'm finishing up some Deep Cheese right now and it...
