you need to understand than when you controller react the humdity is most prolly really high.

with small growing area you usually control the environnement from the room the growing area is in for better mitigation.

controlling environnement in a too small area your more subject to unwanted spike.
Yeah a bigger room would normally have more space between components.

I see the logic of that.

I need to tone things down before I destroy my equipment. ☮️

Considering how small your space is i would think your fan does full air change every few minutes.so both humidifier and dehumidifier is a waste in my opinion.

That's cool.
I'm glad that works for you.
that's not only working for me, like someone told me once i sort of grow indoor with controlled temperature and outdoor rh condition when the general building heater is turned off late spring, summer and early autumn.

not controlling rh and temp during the growing season also work for all outdoor growers ... (and both rh and temp could swing a lot on a daily basis, day by day and across the growing seasons depending the weather)

more or less mold depending the weather past mid-flowering once in a while is just part of the game and always has been ...

eventually keep the dehumidifier to help with that in flowering when the growing space is crowded and there is lot of transpiration/evaporation hapening with the plants

but really just remove the humidifier that's unecessarry and actually creating more issues than helping in a space that small that can't mitigate well rh when the humidifier turn on creating unwanted spike.

(mitigation is proprotionnal to amount and speed wich water is released and total volume inside wich it is released, you have high speed and amount of water released related to total volume)

i really wish i could show you some photos of differents plants at different stages (seedling, veg, flowering stretch) and tell you that plant had 20% rh that one had 50% and that one had 80% rh.

but i just can't because despite i'm keeping an eye on rh across the grows and knowing i have had those rh condtions over the years i don't write it down on my grows diaries, and as whatever the rh the plants grow rather the same, as healthy and vigorous, i just can't tell wich is wich now ...

and as said you won't have to worry with too low rh in flowering due to transpiration ... much more too high rh ...

I tried my last grow without a dehumidifier and it turned out awful.

San Francisco gets humid and foggy and wet, we usually experience 70-100% humidity during the foggy months.

I absolutely need a dehumidifier, one for my room too.

However we also have an Indian Summer in September, October, where we get extremely dry and hot.

In fact the day the sky turned ORANGE 🍊 in the city was hot, forest fires, dry heat, massive pollution. 🥵

I don't have to run my devices, though, I found the humidifier helpful for germination and the dehumidifier for balance, especially later when I want 50% humidity during late flower.

I don't want my own room to be the same climate as the Super Window 🪟

That's why I did all this work.

To be able to control the environment.

That being said I will have a space for plants in other places in my apartment, where I'll be comfortable with the environment it's in. ☮️🕉️

Tried it with just fans, not really.

you find ... based on what ...

i told you i could show plants that had 20% or 80% rh from start to end of flowering stretch on you won't see a difference in growth in between the two ... your not listening or reading sometime ...

it's hard to understand/follow you sometime, on a side you'r saying you'r short on money to buy seeds, on the others side after you lights start flickering you want to take the risk of keep using the humidifier and eventually break your lights ...

well, your money your rules 🙂🙃

Yeah, understand what you are saying.

I'm Still going to keep the humidifier in the grow window, but now it's only going to come on when it's below 53%

Currently the dehumidifier is running.

When the humidifier does come on it only stays on 30 seconds to 1 minute, it doesn't come on that often.

The real problem was, PUSHING TOO MUCH VAPOR, definitely backing off using the humidifier.

Mostly now the dehumidifier runs. 🕉️☮️

I had a decent amount of money last year so I could buy equipment.

My electric bill isn't bad though

I'm paying $43 right now per month usually.

I only currently don't have enough extra cash for seeds.

I need more income from my gig work.

So the TOP light, The SF1000 from @SpiderFarmerLED is still flickering, but the MagLong 2000 is doing good.

So the safest thing to to is TURN OFF the Top light, let it DRY.

My lavender seeds didn't germinate anyway, as it's been about a month.

That's okay. ☮️

Next month I'm just going to buy some established lavender and mint plants.
🍇 🍀

And I decided to not grow strawberries right now, maybe in the future. 🍓

So Now the only LIGHT will be the one for SUSIE 💜

MAY 23RD 2025

I was able to put both my fans 💽 on the same Wi-Fi Plug 🔌 controller with an extension cord, so that I could use one of my controllers for the HEAT MATS ♨️

does the light flicker if you have a finger on it? and have you tried to turn the plug 180degrees
Actually all my lights stopped flickering 🙏🏼☮️

It was the intense high humidity vapor streaming too much and too fast into the LED light. 🥵💦💦💦💦🌬️🌬️🌬️💨💨💨

It doesn't flicker if I touch the led base, it kind of flickers when I touch the dimmer switch and move it, occasionally the intensity would decrease all of a sudden if I got to 40% and flicker, then return to normal. Maybe moisture got into the driver or dimmer switch.

Also the Light intensity today seems to be more stable.

I did replug everything in and make sure all connections are tight and taut. 🙏🏼

with all the connectors and electronic you have in that small area, the safest is to turn off the humidifier and stop blowing condensed water next to the connectors and lights ...

"Can moisture cause a short circuit?

In indoor environments, humidity can accumulate due to various factors, such as temperature changes, liquid evaporation, or water infiltration. Condensation that forms inside electrical panels can damage electronic components and cause short circuits and eventually fire."

Next month I'm just going to buy some established lavender and mint plants.
i bought some established strawberries at the gardening store once, they had spidermites that infested the tent.

even if it's not flickering you may damage it slowly on the long run, with some corrosion happening due to the high humidity and water infiltration of condensed water.

that would be real sad if your lights stop working after 2 years when they can last 5-10 years at 80% efficiency or more and still work without issues afterward even if lower efficiency.

i use the same 11w led bulb in the bathroom and other rooms, thoose in the bathroom usually stop working after a few years, flickering then no longer turning on at some point, never had to change a bulb in the others room
