As the calendar flips on cannabis’ most auspicious month, we have much to look fondly back on: Cannabis users and their allies celebrated April 20th across the world with a Cannabis Cup, other massive unorganized gatherings, and their ownmoments of reflection.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta dropped yet another bomb on pot prohibition with WEED 3, where he called for a medical marijuana revolution in this country to blow up the roadblocks to potential treatments for Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, PTSD and even cancer.

We saw legislators re-introduce a bill to make the federal government respect state cannabis policy.

We learned the U.S government’s research-grade weed was pretty laughable, compared to what patients in advanced medical cannabis economies can obtain. And speaking of which, America’s cannabis remained the best in the world. Here’s some of our favorite cuts from April.

BAY AREA

Sexxpot
“With the stress and fast pace of wired-in living, libido can be left behind, especially for women. We see Sexxpot promoting the kind of healthy relaxation that stimulates libido,” states Karyn Wagner, from Sexxpot’s creator, Paradigm Cannabis Group. Sexxpot is a custom sungrown Humboldt strain of 1980s Mr. Nice — an indica dominant hybrid.

Platinum Grand Daddy Purple
Decades into Grand Daddy Purple’s breeding history and we’re still amazed at some of the beautiful, modern selections of the classic, indica hybrid with grape and hash flavors.

Platinum GDP

All-Star Cookies
No 420 would have been complete without a nod to the blockbuster San Francisco indica hybrid that’s taken the world by storm.

All Star Cookies

Sativa Dream
Flow Kana collective of northern California delivers Bay Area patients this phenomenal heirloom sungrown sativa hybrid that has the floral, fruit and haze notes of a Blue Dream, however the growers Swami Select say it’s their own appellation.

Vortex
TGA Genetics’ tried and true sativa Vortex has a mango snapple and lemon taste and a disorienting, energetic head high.

LOS ANGELES

DaVinci OG
Los Angeles’ Greenwolf along with Ghost Crow took home the title of Best Indica Flower in America in April with the 25.82% THC DaVinci OG. We expect nothing but the best OGs from LALA-land.

Tangieland
While you’re over at Greenwolf, it can’t hurt to pick up some of this highly coveted mandarin cookies-inspired, hyper-potent Tangieland from Crockett Family Farms.

COLORADO

Ghost Train Haze
Rare Dankness defends its prestige with another US Cannabis Cup win for the hyper-potent sativa Ghost Train Haze. Original Ghost OG crossed to Nevil’s Wreck.

Green Crack
This elemental descendant of Skunk #1 still managed to place at the top of the U.S. Cannabis Cup 2015 thanks to its sometimes tangy, fruity, mango flavors, and energetic sativa effects.

Green Ribbon (aka Green Crack)

WASHINGTON

CBDGOG
Durango OG Kush crossed to CBD-rich Quin n Tonic — La Plata Labs’ CBDGOG smells like “blueberry diapers”. Air scrubber/carbon filter recommended.

Stephen Hawking Kush
A mix of 20:1 CBD Harle-Tsu and Sin City Kush — this CBD-rich 70 percent indica is part of Alphakronik Genetics’ “Great Minds” series. The famed theoretical physicist Hawking confirmed this week that: “one day there may well be proof of multiple universes” and “it would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe — and in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.”
