Yup its all up to oneself to get help.
ive had lots of folks who reach out and are sincere about improving there life and they fall back into their addictions.
I was no different. We had a fella at United Air Lines who was the unions employees assistant coordinator and would try to get a few of us sobered up. We drank even more.
We drove the poor guy nuts with our actions. We once phoned managment and reported 2 cabin service, our dept., United Employees in uniform tearing up a bar near the airport, can you send someone over to help, we dont want to call cops. Immeditaly He and management went over only to find nothing...We would drink everyday and do crazy shit but the never tested us
One xmas eve I got hammered, really hammered black out drunk at work.
I broke into liquor cabnet at work and procedded up to terminal with a full bag of miniatures, ice, cups and made coctails for passengers and joined a choir singing carols. A ticket agent saw what was going on and called downstairs and they came and got me, ended up throwing up in the investigation room. Day after xmas checked into rehab, to save my job, not for me 30 days, dancin with a nun on new years. that lasted about 6 months till is started in again...
AA also heals the stinkin thinkin as well. Havent been to meetings since i left Denver do use there ideals as tools, I also keep from taking that1st sip cause it would be more meetings and Ive relasped so many times, just dont take that 1st sip and I will be fine.Dont want to go thru the admission, 1st step over and over again...
Cunning Baffling, powerful and patient. Thats what AA says...Thats what i know as fact...
Folks have told me I got it licked, no way, I could drink at anytime, just keep it simple, when tempted ask for it to go away, this too shall soon pass and it does. Temptation only happens once in awhile and thats amazing cause all i ever wanted was another beer.
most dont make it, I got a lot to live for not realy worth taking that 1st sip...
Thanks all this really helps me feel good and stay on track...

Your a really great person chickenman, i really wish a few people i know would want to make the change. But like you said it had to be your choice. Thanks so much for inspiring hope in people and for being such a helpful person in general. Thcfarmer is the most down to earth place i know and i wish my world was filled with good people like everyone here. Thanks everyone, i love this place.

Thanks feels pretty good, I was not such a good person back when i was a drunk, liar, thief, drunk, pretty sick,so i feel i must make up for lost time, have amended all i can, must stay focused, positive, live for today, tomorrow will come, make myself happy above all and the rest falls into place. One lucky blessed person, cant blow it with stinkin drinkin thinkin. got some stinkin Grape haze that will get me thinkin I better get my ass out and satsify all them chicken and goats Iam their god, they are my childern.

This band has made my life what it is today, helped me see a better way....
The Sons Of champlin.. Still at it, saw them this month, my guiding lite thru good and bad times for 40 plus years......

My band forever. Get High was banned from the airwaves back in the 70s by the FCC.
Its really about gettin high on life as well as weed...
Ive heard these songs a million times and never get tired of or forget the messages within...
Back in the 70s I was invited back stage for several shows. The band would puff non stop huge dubes of weed that I could ot believe, 3 dubes going around for 45 mins non stop. We were really high and they would come out for 2nd set and blow us away...

Grape haze sounds awesome, me n the wife just got done with an alien rock candy joint. Feeling much more "in tune" haha

For better or worse everything but weed makes me so sick, I couldn't go back to it. One beer or cocktail these days and my health is completely disrupted. Same for he harder stuff. Makes it easy to stay away.

A big part of life is managing your addictions, and sometimes that means staying away from ever trying it in the first place. I saw my parents' struggle to quit smoking, and it scared me enough to never start.

Everyone has their vices. Weed is mine. So far, it hasn't bitten me in the ass...

yeeehawwww! i was straight for about a week then I woke up this morning and ya wanna know what.....I smashe dabout 6 shots......Im so tired of this life yall. So damn tired. But hey this is what I signed up for. WHOO HOO being a godamned pot grower is so fun, huh. lol. I barely ever fucking sleep I barely ever think,,,,,its all plants and selling,,,,WOOOO__++_+

DWB you mustn't be used to the elevation yet, lol. jk of course.

Not being able to metabolize booze very well I have a 2-3 beer limit per day. A two day hangover and a migraine just ain't worth it.

Booze in excess ruins peoples lives but also effects entire families and friends. Some American Indians say "You don't drink from the bottle, the bottle drinks from you."

Good luck, for me it got worse each time i started in again and I gaurantee you will be the same.
Someday you may realize theres so much more to live for than killing yourself with booze, growing pot and suffering...
Nuff said,

it was 12 years ago today!!! I taught the band the too play!!!!! they been going in and out of style!! but there guaranteed too raise a smile!!!!

Once I learned this life is a lot better..
It took me a long time to learn this, a never ending idea that sure makes life better....Inner peace starting with self, boy this old world sure could use a lot of that now...Just imagine what it would be like if we just gave up the fear and hate and we all came together and lived as one....
