Hi, I have 5 autos and 5 photos that are 4-6 weeks old and in a 3x3 tent until June when they’ll get moved outside. I’m in Ontario and my electricity is billed based on time of use, so 7 am - 11 am and 5 pm - 7 pm are peak and cost twice as much as the rest of the time. So being cheap I set my light schedule to be off during the peak times. So the light schedule is actually 12 on/ 4 off/ 6 on / 2 off, it adds up to 18/6.

Im happy with this and my plants are ok, I’m not really pushing for greatness here. Im wondering if anyone else has tried this type of light schedule and if they had any difficulties or seen drawbacks, or have done a side by side comparison to traditional 18/6 with any interesting results. Any feedback is appreciated!

A friend of mine keeps mother plants in a similar way. He just interrupts the "night" schedule to keep them in veg. He's had no problems.
