The weather forecast calls for rain and low temperatures, 17-10°C, for the next three days; The length of the day from sunrise to sunset is now 19 hours and seven minutes and is getting shorter every day as we move towards autumn; The beginning of the season has been arctic.

Any recommendations from anyone?

F1 strains with growth times of 8-12 weeks. Put into germination on 3.5. and into the growing area on 13.5. Growth has been short and the start of flowering has been delayed due to rainy, cloudy and dark weather;

There have been exceptionally few hours of sunlight compared to average.

What does the jury recommend for these next steps?

I beg your mercy, or at least good advice to optimize what I can do to save what can still be saved.

PS: The girls have the opportunity to get 19 hours of direct light a day, depending on the cloudiness.
I crushed 10kg of fresh comfrey herb (Symphytum) and a few banana peels in a blender, added enough water to make the mass smooth; I spread the mass with a few new earthworms directly at the base of the plants.

The idea is that the mass releases phosphorus and potassium, acting as a feeding place for the worms, which thus aerate the bed and spread nutrients.

One of my “hacks” is to slice up a bunch of bananas (4 in this case), and let it steep for a couple of days in a five gallon bucket of water. Then use it for watering. I didn’t invent this, but this is how I incorporate bananas into my grow. In the off season, any old bananas and all peels go into the garden until they get tilled in.

Yeah, they weed whack anything that has grown over the winter and throw it into the beds and turn it in! When you think about it that’s pretty much how it’s done in nature! Just a little longer process! And that wood chip stuff almost boggles the mind! 90% of the people on this site consider it a travesty to find some wood chips in their soil! L O L! This guy makes a living using tons of them!
A good percentage of my soil contains wood chips of some kind. Not a travesty in my mind!

I’m pretty sure his are Oak! And they have to sit for a year before he will use them! But when he digs into the pile, he gets some steam! That’s always a good sign!👍 I would be a little leery about using pine! Don’t know how those resins would affect the grow!

I would worry more if the pine was fresh, but it is kiln dried, and well composted before plants ever see it.
Plus it’s our state tree 👍
Oak would be nice, but I use what I have access to

Do you ever get to eat your grapes Pete? I’ve got a large vine (I use for privacy) and although I can get fruit set, never can pull them over the line. Not sure if it’s just the critters chowing down or something on my end. 🤷‍♂️

Nice plants BTW

There were 5 grape vines planted on the back fence when I moved into the house. Only 1 of the vines produce grapes I that are good to eat. The rest are very seedy and don't fully mature. I suppose I could remove some of the clusters, like they do in wine country to make the remaining ones more concentrated. I just never bothered. I get enough from the one vine that its more than my family can eat. They all sort of ripen at once. I like the way they look though.

UPDATE TO MYSTERY PLANT….ReVeg!!

So I was away for a few days and came back to find that my Mystery plant (seedsman freebie) started to reveg! Not surprised as I had to, for various reasons, put her in the ground in mid-May (zone 6 NE) when I usually plant young plants early June. She started to flower by mid June and originally thought she could be an auto. But I could tell it was acting funny because the flowers sort of stayed pre-flower and now I am seeing single point leaves and other craziness. Would love to save her though because the aroma is a lovely, pure tropical fruitiness…

Question is: what to do?!? I’m leaning to letting her ride as an experiment, letting her veg again and then perhaps pruning out the initial flowers in a couple of weeks (golden tigers, pre98 bubba and purple panty dropper all still solidly in veg, so not worried about bulk of the crop or yields). Any suggestions?? 🙏💚🌿

Not much of a choice! Let her ride! There’s a fair chance she will regain her bearings and finish off nicely! It’s still pretty early! As with all reveg’s outdoors, it is wait and watch! Nothing is guaranteed! Keep us updated if you can!😄🐒
