I have been around grows maybe 7 years. But by no means anything more then a novice.
Been around Cannabis maybe 43years. But Last year was my first self grow.

My issue is I owned a Landscape company. Then last year was my first time private growing out doors.
I did OK, didn't lose any plants maybe yielded 2lbs each.
But I can tell I am struggling. My family ( inlaws have grown and stopped and my wives uncle grows, as well as his neighbor)
And they all have different opinions.
My son has Crones and this works amazing for him.
We are growing Indica primally for medical but also personal.

I have some plants ( not from seeds and I started last week) I think I am not doing as well this year.
So thought I should talk with others to get a more rounded idea. Weather is cooler right now.
Temps down low 40 at night and 75 during the day. So I bring them in at night.

I am lost a little, but my issue is Landscaping and growing what we did then has me tainted in what I think over what I know.

A issue I noticed after getting my plants the last two weeks is the end on some of the leaves are drying up on the tips.
So I think I am getting myself into a spot here.

What are you using for soil?
Right now, it is the soil that came from the growers.
We have local dispensaries that sell plant. I may try seeds next year.
But it would be what ever they had them in. They have not been transplanted yet by me.

The small pots don’t look too bad! If I had to guess, the large pots have been suffering from a lack of light right from the get-go! That’s why they’re all stretched out! And the large pots might be suffering from a lack of drainage because I don’t see any perlite in there! The route zone is probably staying too wet! Maybe you’re watering them too often instead of letting them dry out! Dry back are important! If you are growing in an area where the RH stays hi for the most part, it will take forever for those pots to dry out! I don’t know if there’s much you can do about the large pots except get them out into the sun as much as possible! But the small pot still have potential if you play your cards right when you up pot them! This is all just conjecture based on not much information!😁

I appreciate it all the same.
This is my second year. I figure if I can get through and learn some.
Appreciate the feedback, it helps and is similar to what Macky said in my welcome post.
I have a question, in this large pots we grew them in last year. I always wondered if there should be more drainage?
These are 55gallon water cut down. My inlaws used them for their grow for about 7 years.
They no longer grow so I took them. Should I be adding side holes or something.
The pots seemed damp and we covered all winter so I doubt much rain got in them,

I really appreciate the help.

I wouldn’t even grow outdoors in plastic! But that’s just me! I hate black! Whether fabric, or plastic! But if you’re gonna grow in a 55 gallon plastic pot, yeah I think you need a lot of drainage out the bottom! And I think you need a lot of per light in the medium! That root zone needs to breathe! When you start throwing things together, willy-nilly in terms of soil, pots, etc. then you can expect headaches! And everything has to be tailored to work with your climate! I favor, light colored fabric and the bigger the better! Just stuff learned on the go after a few crashes and burns!🤣🍻

But a large 50 gallon black plastic pot is a lot better than a 5 gallon plastic pot! If your relatives were successful growers in your area, I would be picking their brains! Climate makes a huge difference!

They are all I have at the moment. Cost is something I am trying to monitor. I have seen the large white grow bags.
But I do see where you are going with this thought process. Make sense.
The weather here is weird. The say goes all year round Don't Like The Weather, Stick Around it will change.
There are areas where I live these plants love it here. But also people do spend allot to to get them going.
With most doing large indoor grows.
I would where I live, but I cant control temps well where I would put them. The ranch where they grew and I could use, is to far away to be practical and care for them. Thank you I am making note of all of this.

Where is it that you are growing? I grow in the north Sacramento Valley in California! So I am basically a desert grower! 🥵 so I have applied a lot of common sense to make it work! The same thing you have to do in your climate! There’s no one-size-fits-all in this business!

Located in Douglas County Oregon
The indoor growers always face mold issues over the outsiders and was one reason I chose outside.
It was also how my inlaws grew. I have asked allot from people locally and every one has an opinion.
So what I do is listen to when they all say the same :) then I make note .
I know North Sac area pretty well. So that gives me an idea as well. I do hear in more higher temp areas the lighter color
bags/pots do well or like in Hawaii . I seem to know enough to get myself in trouble🤣. Now trying to learn how to get out.

That doesn’t sound too bad! Unless you are on the coast! That can be problematic! But if you are in land in kind of a banana belt area where it stays dry most of the summer, I think you have a good chance! 😍 i’m 30 miles south of redding outside of red Bluff! A hot dry hell hole! But I wouldn’t have it any other way once I got it figured out! That’s what you have to do!

That is dry out there for sure. I know the area. I was born and raised in Cal, until moving up here 25 years ago.
In fact that area on 5 I wont forget. Before cell phones had middle of July my Car break down and truck stop was 7 miles away.
Was 101F . So you give me hope if you can grow where you are. Did the fires last few years effect your grow at all?

No! Nothing major! But the first year or two smoke would blow it down here from Oregon and pile up and it lasted for more than a month so that might have contributed to my crash and burn! Nothing but an orange ball in the sky from August till halfway through September! But the fact that I didn’t know what I was doing. Probably contributed quite a bit also!! Lol.

Galgrows I think it’s in Roseburg and I think root farmer is up in that neck of the woods also! So if you spot their post, you might check them out! They are above the rain cut off line which is approximately the Oregon border, so that’s when a lot of problems can start! Not saying I agree with their methods, but that’s the beauty of growing! You can do it your own way!

It’s pretty much just a medium that can breathe well! A pot big enough to keep the root zone cool! And as much sun as you can slam at them! Till it starts raining! Then the shit hits the fan! Lol! Talking about up there! I don’t see rain till mid October! Sweet! And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! And welcome, Pilgrim!🍻😆

And one more thing and I will shut up! Make sure those little ones are getting at least 15 hours of light between being outdoors and indoors! Premature flowering is not a place that you want to visit! Ask me how I know!😂 at least until the first week of June! Then you can throw them to the wolves! Slam them with sunlight!

I brought them in today turned on my fan small one and put my grow lights on it left for 8 hours came back and they perked up . Didnt cure the leaves but they seem to look happy. So maybe also with this weather they are not getting enough light.
No don't be quiet, lol I need to umm learn from other mistakes.

By the way I got a great deal on this plant today guy said it was Sativa/Indica hybrid.
Only 5.00 what a steal . 😂🤪.

They said it makes nice red fruit as well. I learned something new everyday.
