Happy Monday Farmers! Hope you are all doing well! Got Trina hanging, looking like a 7 to 10 day dry. The MACdawg are thriving, gave them a watering with the usual drop of honey and did some gender identity searches😜View attachment 2115626View attachment 2115627View attachment 2115629View attachment 2115630View attachment 2115631View attachment 2115632View attachment 2115633View attachment 2115637
View attachment 2115636View attachment 2115654

The older three all confirmed females, 7 and 9 are immature, but 7 is giving me female vibes and I swear i see a ball on 9😜View attachment 2115638

7 caught up to the other girls, so the training helped with my split sowing of the seeds. 9 had the roughest transplant, but looks ready to shoot up!View attachment 2115639

Well, that's all for now, as always.... be water my friends😉
Looking awesome homie!

Thanks broham, 🤞 #9 is a male. Would like to grow these out more.

Side note, it appears that the Strawberry Fantasy pollen I had was not viable, so no seeds from Trina😒

Still can't wait to smoke her tho!
Oh well, best laid plans of mice and men, and all that jazz. Well, toss that sterile junk. And go for it necks time 👊🏻🤡

I ain't tripping, plenty of females to smoke anyways. Breeding is a goal so that I can really dial in cultivars for my families needs. But first and foremost is making sure I can grow this plant correctly, take the time to select some good ones, and maybe see what happens in the future😉

Not gonna lie, gave those "pollenated" nugs a quick dry and twst smoke. Not the trainwreck I quite remember, but man it puts a smile on my face. Can't wait for the properly dried and cured test!

2Water's 1 Drop of Wisdom:

It's good to have plans to keep yourself on track, but those plans are guidelines so don't sweat when things don't go the way you expected. Pivot, adjust, and look for a new way.... you'll be ok.😉

Thanks @Mikedin ! Really wish I would have stuck to my plans better and planted them all at the same time, but live and learn😉 My wife is happy because I let her know that atleast one female appears to be MAC dom. She tried the tester nug of the trainwreck, not for her.... so MAC1 is still about the only strain that works 100% for both of us🤷‍♂️

Sometimes a staggered harvest isint so bad, easier on the fingers ✂️

#9 still is undetermined, it's my last chance for a male, so🤞

I've read on different forums and articles that the 50/50 statistical distribution of males and fems in reg packs can go closee to 25/75% male/fem with the right environment and conditions. Not sure if that is true or not, but with these and the Strawberry Fantasy I've popped 23 seeds and so far have only confirmed 2 males. Hoping it's 3 now, but even taken for granted that I did do some culling, still not bad ratios

Yes, stress inhibits the production of ethylene
The reason that seems surprising to me is that if stress can trigger males, intuitively I would think they would be just as likely to morph into hermaphrodites later as fem seeds, given the genetic potential to alter their sex at least initially.

My understanding is that it is not connected to the hermaphroditic trait, but more of the natural dioceous nature of the plant. Essentially all seeds are both or neither until introduced into thier environment. There, stress and nutritional factors dictate the ethylene production in each seedling and that determines which mature into males or females

If you think about it from the plants perspective, if they are sown in a hostile environment, more males would ensure the survival of the species, while in optimum environments, you would want a competition between the best females to advance the next generation🤷‍♂️

That’s the opposite of managing, a herd of deer or elk, or whatever! One Mail can be responsible for a lot of fawns.

I just thought there was a little flaw. In your reasoning! No biggie!
