Here are some Drug War Stats

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-fleming5-2008jul05,0,3205714.story

The United States has been spending $69 billion a year worldwide for the last 40 years, for a total of $2.5 trillion, on drug prohibition -- with little to show for it.

Washington, DC: More than 98 percent of all of the marijuana plants seized by law enforcement in the United States is feral hemp not cultivated cannabis, according to newly released data by the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program and the Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics.

2.5 trillion dollars to remove ditch weed. The other 2% is growers being snitched on. 2% of their actual captured cannabis is cultivated. Mind-fuckin-blowing.

The sad part is politicians will argue that they need more money for their drug war with stats like this. And they may only capture another 1 percent of non ditch weed in the next ten years. What a terrible waste.
